Chelsea must be the smartest club ever at selling above average players at ridiculous prices (Mata, Luiz).

Sky Sports News are reporting that it could be £50m which is nearly 62 million euro.

Ridiculous.

I think it's being a fanboy to wish for a club to fail miserably.

Beyond being a PSG fan, i love football, and as you said, I want the CL to be spectacular. I don't care how clubs become big. If it's oïl money or else, really doesnt matter.

No, yes.

Presumably the godlike Thiago Silva must be happy enough to playing alongside Luiz.. - you all seem to rate T.Silva so very highly .

I have the feeling that PSG only wants to piss us off. We were interested in Marquinhos, they got him. We were apparently interested in Luiz, they'll get him...for a ridiculous amount of money. It's like they want to buy every player we want to sign. Wouldn't be surprised if I'll woke up tomorrow and read the news that Benatia has a medical in Paris.

If thats the case then we should pretend to be interested in signing Emile Heskey :)

But it's not exactly fair is it?

From a simply footballing view, it's great. If your club have had to grow to get where they are, must be frustrating.

No, it's not. It's quite frankly unhealthy, exponential, cancerous growth with player accumulation that takes away from lesser clubs as well (Luiz may not be the best example here ofc, but generally it is). Simply from a football fan's perspective, it's bad enough that you have clubs like Bayern, that grew to that top level based on their own merits to establish several dynasties, enabling them to cherry-picking players from smaller teams, distorting the original natural cycles of ups and downs in a league/in Europe. But now you have even more of these clubs, who can draw players away from the lesser teams, simply due to the fact that they have whored themselves out to Arab or Russian oil money, which is the same as hitting the money cheat while playing football manager games on your computer. Barely any history, fame and prestige, but shitloads of money. And of course, now that football has more and more become a business with players greedy beyond comprehension, they will rather choose a club which offers them triple the money per year than the club the fantasized about as young boys. There is a reason City, Chelsea, PSG and Monaco are called 'plastic' (though concerning some of those club's respective history, said label doesn't do them entirely justice tbh, but it's close enough).

I get what you're saying, but if you really break it down to its very core, it's now even more wrong than it was before/ever was.
If we follow down that road further, chances for a Porto, BVB or Atletico happening again will be next to impossible. If you can't whore yourself out, you will have no chance to break into the crowd of the top dogs.
The only one's benefitting are small elite of players and their agents.
