Edgar Ie was just signed from Sporting Lisabon for Barca B.

Edgar Ie

The Portuguese player, born in 1994, is known for his ability to play in multiple positions. He’s an adept right back but he can also ply his talent farther up the pitch. Ié signed with Sporting Clube Portugal in the 2008/09 season from Oeiras, and since then he’s been one of the standout players in the Lisbon-based team’s youth academy. In addition to playing on the wing, Ié is also an excellent center back, a position he learned to play under the direction of the current manager of the Sporting Clube’s first team, Ricardo Sá Pinto.

Ié has been a permanent fixture in the youth teams of Portugal’s national sides, but he wasn’t able to participate in the U19 Euro this summer, because he sustained a fracture to the fifth metatarsal of his left foot.

Call it early, but this guy impressed me in his last 5 matches. Beast. Type of CB we were missing the entire season at Barca B. Very optimistic about Edgar Ié.
