The funny thing is that Ajax-fans, for a long time, were really depressed with having Ten Hag. His personality and charisma did not match the club-DNA and so on. And yeah, now it's changed because of the great results, but still, you have to question yourself if that really was Ten Hag's influence. Ajax just had a great team. Offensive backs (Tagliafico is a really good leftback), a great central defending duo (smart Blind and the amazing beast De Ligt), FDJ on the midfield, Van de Beek (an upgraded version of Rakitic) and technical gifted players up front as Tadic, Ziyech and the quick Neres.. Now without the exceptional talents De Ligt and De Jong I'm pretty sure it will look different.

And it's funny excelly, because the manager all the Ajax-fans really loved was Peter Bosz (now Bayer Leverkussen). His influence and style was really noticed on the pitch. Extreme high pressure and extreme offensive football. It really was great to watch, but yeah, it takes time to work it in and it will still bring some risks with it. You could see his style as a combination of Guardiola and Sampaoli/Bielsa.

Yeah he has the charisma of an egg lol that plus the way he talks he sounds a bit simple, however his tactics are on point.

Loved Bosz aswell but his tactics were just suicidal, TH is more pragmatic.

Rumours about saying that Ziyech and Tadic are frustrated with Ten Hag’s tactical ineptness, since the man behind Ajax’s successful tactics turns out to be Schreuder and he left..

Dutch sources (most definitely 'Telegraaf') shouldn't be taken into account reading news about Ajax/Ten Hag.
Their chief of sport is on a campaign against Ten Hag from the start, and will write nonsense just to get pressure on Ten Hag.

Overmars, v.d Sar & senior squad members are all content with the way they are performing.
Sure missing de Jong/Schone on midfield is a big setback and they are trying to find out the best way to set up the new midfield.

I don’t trust de Telegraaf anyway. Johan Derksen spilled it and the reliability of the source was backed by Hans Kraai Jr.

Didn't look like Tadic and Ziyech were frustrated after they qualified for the CL.

I heard the same sort of stuff when Pep left as well. Tito was apparently behind his success. Same was said for Klopp when his long-time assistant Željko Buvač left, and guess what, they had their best season last year and won the CL.

Erik ten Hag was never the traditionalist Ajax choice. A part of the press in Amsterdam seem to be content with meek characters who will give them all the info they want and play great football domestically only to shit their pants in Europe, like de Boer.

Johan Derksen in particular who is behind this "exclusive scoop" started the campaign against EtH last season when Ajax had a slow start to the season.

They've had a bit of a slow start so far trying to figure out the right players to replace Frenkie de Jong and de Ligt and the transition from the defence to midfield and you suddenly have the same guy starting the same mantra.

Just google Johan Derksen and you'll see the countless amount of people, commentators and other analysts tearing him apart for his bullshit.

To be honest, I've seen about 6-7 games from Ajax under ten Hag. His words about how he made the tactics to fit the players he had is not the most encouraging. And they got Razvan Marin to replace de Jong? That's a totally different player.

Ajax off to a good start with a 3-0 win over Lille.

They have been defensively a bit suspect and a better team would have punished them tonight , but damn attacking they are so pleasing to watch. Ten Hag made them play some top notch football while having 2 defenders and Promes as his midfield. ( Beek injured and Marin being pretty bad so far)
