Erling Haaland

At this point even Aguero would be miles better than Griezmann, Dembele or Braithwaite

Back to two old legs in front three is backwards step that impacts rest of team.

Squad is better as is now than adding Aguero/Suarez type starter.

If cheap back up fine if not then shouldnt even entertain it.

If he pulls of Haaland he becomes a legend no matter what.

Tough to say what we can do with our financial situation, but if he goes to Messi and says: Listen, we can pull off signing Haaland as well as add Alaba, Garcia and Memphis as free transfers which will instantly improve this team along with the young core we have, but for that you need to take a big paycut in the range of 20-30m/year.

I think Messi might do it.

First of all it instantly gives us and him a better shot at winning the Champions League and he won't have to move his family from Barcelona, something he said is a tough thing for him to do to his kids since he went through the same moving from his friends when he came to Barcelona from Rosario.

Messi is so big he can shit money even after his playing career being a brand ambassor for various companies. If it's all about his legacy and winning CLs then taking a paycut, even as big as this one shouldn't be an issue.

Watzke literally gone on record saying the opposite.
True. OD is the only one who is saying the opposite. I personally do not believe him; however, I still believe that Haaland will not stay next season, especially if BvB fails to secure top 4.

City, CFC, MUFC, Juve, Madrid, and Barcelona are the ones that will try to get him.

I've always wondered why the top stars in football don't recruit players...like Lebron actively recruited AD or banded the big 3 in Cleveland and Miami. Not just for Messi, but others as well.

I honestly do not understand how this keeps getting traction and how people keep forgetting.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...rling-Haaland-DOESNT-release-clause-2021.html

Unless Watzke openly lies to dissuade the negotiators calling up Raiola, what gives?

Watzke has denied the existence of a release clause in general I think.

I guess it might come down to interpretation of what's there. It might be like Suarez' release clause with Liverpool where they were obliged to listen to the offer if someone bid over 40m, but not obliged to accept it.

Tbf Neymar has been trying to recruit Messi for a year now, quite publicly too

The NBA community is quite close which makes it an easier sell I guess. Usually in football you don't need the players to do anything at all and players usually hang out with their team mates or countrymen, you hardly have players hanging out with players of other teams in their free time. While in the NBA you can have rival players hanging out all the time.

Football is just bigger and spread out.

I still think Neymar got jealous of the bromance that developed between Messi and Suarez and he decided to leave, because he didn't fit in that boring lifestyle they had.

I don't see why Barca would be an appealing destination for Haaland.

The supporting cast is nothing to write home about & given to our debts, we can't offer him insane salary.

Laporta will convince him and make him sign the deal on his yacht with some strippers and coke

I don't see a better destination than Barca for him other than City. Madrid's options are even worse than ours, Lewa isn't going anywhere at Bayern and Man Utd are just a step below.

He'll come to Barca or Real Madrid since Mino want his client to play for one of them and win or at least have a shot at winning multiple BdOs which means huge contract extensions and more money for Mino.

The one thing Mino Raiola doesn't have over Jorge Mendes? His players winning BdOs.

I want you to know I'm half serious only, but I think we got a realistic shot at landing him.

Ronaldo is his idol which may help Real although may not want to be at same club as Mbappe to compete for balondor.

City surely appeals..he is a massive fan of them, best squad in highest profile league, Pep is there and has a blank canvas to make history at club without any comparisons of numbers to Messi/Ronaldo.

My guess would be City is where he ends up.
