PL will be well and truly dead if he joins city. nearly every player in city's squad was bought for 50m+ and now they're gonna spend 100-140m to buy haaland? not even chelsea can compete with that financial power

nah. they raid all of germany's talent and call it a 'league'...more like bundesLOL

their managerial efficiency definitely is laudable since IIRC bayern are the only club without debt (luft can u confirm). but their monopolization of german football is lame af

imagine real poaching every talented barca player ever...lameeee

Yes it is lame but there is a reason they got to where they are here today. Others weren't born to be push-overs. Traditionally Bayern was accused of weakening their biggest/direct opponent (for example Gladbach, Leverkusen, Dortmund etc. in different periods throughout history) when they surfaced, and one can argue they can be blamed for grabbing many players for free and thus leaving the departing club with zero money, but again, there is a reason why they enjoy monopoly in Germany, because they have been brutally smart.

It would make PL even less competitive and boring, sucks for them, but we who supports teams in other leagues wont have to deal with it.
Well, no more than a couple of times every few seasons.

Also, as a Norwegian, i wouldn't be that sad regardless.

I'd rather see him join Madrid, to be frank. Primera needs a big name signing and if that can't be Barca, Madrid is the 2nd best option. Hope City gets slapped in the face. :coffee:

Rumours over here that City are looking at Danny Ings to replace Aguero....

There are always strange transfer rumours with regard to City. In the summer it was Winks. I suspect it's just some agents trying to inflate their player's worth.

He is a great player but the hype around him is getting ridiculous, Dortmund haven't improved since he went there, if anything they have gotten worse. He looks fantastic in a counter attacking team but I'm not sure if he would be as impressive for a team like City or even Barca. I would take him if we had the chance but it isn't going to suddenly make Barca into contenders for the Champions League and isn't going to make City unstoppable either.

I remember similar things were said when Barca signed Zlatan, gives them plan B, better technique than Eto'o, gives them another dimension, he will be a threat in the air, bla bla bla it didn't work out that way. He is not a Messi level player nor a Ronaldo level so it won't be such a big deal to miss out on him as it would be those two, but as I said I would still love us to sign him but we need to fix our defence first and foremost.

Lol. You cant blame that on Haaland. He fuckin scores against every team he plays against, what more do you want from him? He does his job, not his fault rest of the team are a bunch of B-tier players.

Also Ibra was very good when he came, he sucked when he had to move because Messi wanted to play in the middle (rightly so). And secondly our situation back then compared to now is totally different. We got rid of Eto'o who was one of the best players back then and replaced him with Ibra, also we had goal machine Messi, Henry and a very good Pedro to score the goals. Who do we have now? Only Messi who is old af and is maybe about to leave. Who will score our goals? If we miss out on him, who can we get that can replace Messi and Suarez numbers?

Too much of simplistic, reductionist view. I can understand the aversion to paying big money for him, but some of your points don't make much sense.

1. "Dortmund haven't improved since he went there, if anything they have gotten worse."
Dortmund are developmental club that currently have a mostly average lot of players and mediocre coach. This is not the Dortmund of old that was capable of pushing Bayern. Absurd to blame Haaland for this. The only reason Dortmund are still in the CL and have a chance at top is 4 is because of Haaland, not in spite of him. What next, Haaland is a failure on the international level because he can't win anything with Norway?

2. "I remember similar things were said when Barca signed Zlatan, gives them plan B, better technique than Eto'o..."

Offloading Eto'o for Zlatan didn't work out, but you cannot base your perspective on strikers around that single incident forever. Embarrassing to see Barca fans still bring that up in over a decade later to judge current potential centre-forward targets. Our team is not the same, our style is not the same, football is not the same, the players in question are not the same. Time to move on and start rating players in the modern context, no?

He is the best what the market offers.
There is obviously a lack of classic number 9 players. Suarez and Lewa are the last of these kinds of players.

Considering how many chances Griezmann and Dembele missed this season, Haaland with better movement and better finishing would score at least 20 goals in the league.

He would improve any team besides maybe Bayern because they have Lewa.

Griezmann,Demebel,Benzema,Morata,Aguero,G. Jesus,Cavani,Rashford,Firmino,Werner,Tammy A.,Suarez,Felix are not good as this guy.

Yeah true but they also aren't immune to signing a Nathan Ake, Scott Sinclair, Scott Carson or Jack Rodwell once in a while.

I haven't blamed him for anything, just stating a fact that Dortmund are a worse team now than when he joined and they are, the point being that Dortmunds main problem is conceding loads of goals very easily and we have the same problem.

Its not embarrassing to state my opinion, we didn't need Zlatan, we needed to stop conceding silly goals, and we have the same problem now. Haaland won't fix that, he might help us score more but if we were defensively solid then we don't lose 3 - 0 to Juve and Roma or 4 - 0 to Liverpool. Look at the difference a solid defence has done for City or Chelsea recently, or Liverpool before that. That would be my priority if we had money to spend this summer. But I would still be excited to get Haaland too but I don't think it will make much difference if we keep conceding goals relatively easily.

Anti-everything
Why mention it at all then if not trying to imply that he's at least somewhat culpable?
Secondly as shit as our defence was the entire team collapsed not just the defence in those loses as scoring a single goal would of seen us through I'm both those return legs.
