Another factor that suggests Valverde will open a new path back to the roots, as it were, is the priority set on working with the ball. It;s true that the strong point of his predecessor, Luis Enrique, was his methodology in training. The Asturian ensured the players were 100 per cent focused, breaking up the routine with fun activities to keep concentration high.

However Lucho had an obsession with physical training and the numbers, which sometimes meant he lost the plot and forgot that the ball is the principle weapon with which players win games.

While I don't know if the article is true or not but this passage makes me believe the part in regards to Lucho and his training.

There were a lot of games this season that we were just terrible in regards to passing etc, it made question what was going on in the training grounds. Lucho is a guy that always had that fighting/fiery mentality and he is also a health and fitness freak and it wouldn't be surprising if he focused on that more so than what we do with the ball.

Didn't MD say he "approved" the transfer?

As in Robert suggests Paulinho, and Valverde says "Go ahead"

It's clearly obvious that both MD and Sport are winging it when it comes to their articles. the Verratti and Paulinho rumors and even the Bellerin stuff this entire summer has been insanity on their end.

There's no doubt we are interested in both Verratti and Paulinho and formally Bellerin but in a lot of their articles they clearly went off the deep end and some articles even cheerleading and trying to convince us Paulinho is a diamond the same with their Catalan son Bellerin.
