I think people are underrating how hard it is to play against a team with only defence in mind.

Well, Sweden had their one huge chance. Closer than it looked.

Isak did have a great chance but any competent striker would have Spain in front. They aren’t getting anywhere with Morata leading the line.

Spain controlled the game and Sweden almost scored with their first touch in the Spain penalty area.

I quite like Enrique's Spain, but the forward line is just tragic. Ansu would have been massive, such a shame.

Busi would he actually more beneficial in games like this.

It's mostly on Pedri though. Rodri is fulfilling his role while he hasn't got the scope of passing of Busquets. While Koke is the workhorse mid and is having a good game.

Pedri is failing to want the ball and content with removing himself from the play. Could be the pressure of the game got to him.

He is playing nice switches but you can see the difference between how isolated Olmo is in possession compared to Ferran who always has Koke close.

Anyway his role should be to support the attack and be more daring. If not, Thiago will replace him sooner than later and he might not get back in the 11.

I don't think Pedri competes with Thiago. Completely different skill sets. For me it's Koke or Thiago.

Sweden have been really poor defensively though. They're basically pressing with the front two and then leaving the midfield completely exposed. Spain get good possession in the final third and then play Moyesball when they get there.
