None of the players you're mentioning were taken from other clubs when they were essentially the finished product. Messi and the Dos Santos brothers arrived when they were children, Messi came because his father approached us wanting help with Lio's growth problems, you must be the only person in the world who doesn't know that. Macheda was poached prior to being able to sign a contract with Lazio, it's common practice at Premiership clubs with failing youth systems nowadays and I don't much like it.
