Mendieta was awesome for Valencia, such a complete midfielder. It's a shame his career collapsed so quickly once he moved to Nazio; there were moments for Barcelona and Middlesbrough were I thought he would make a comeback but his health just deteriorated too much. Still, there was a point where he might have been the best midfielder in Spain.
