One thing that is laughable about his game, but that maybe gets lost in the circus of embarrassment, are his long balls. We're talking two out of three of his long balls being these high arch slow ass imprecise floaters that either get intercepted with ease or just sail over the touchline.

The contrast to watching City's centre backs ping high velocity balls into the path of running wingers with grace nearly every time...

Yes, his floats are slow. This is the Cruyff system, though, for CB to pass quick long balls to the forwards, skipping midfield when covered in heavy numbers. Koeman used to strike precise such balls forward to Romario and Stoichkov which contributed to many goals.

Such goal was Bergkamp's magic moment against Argentina at the 1998 World Cup 1/4 finals. Long pass from CB Frank De Boer.

Marquez was also an underrated long passer, although our offense didn't make enough use of it

Masche had great eye and technique for a long pass too. Pique sometimes gets it right too, but isn't proficient passer overall.
