In 11 games the team managed to score 12 goals. 1.09 goals a game. And that's Messi creating chances, plus Suarez and Neymar next to him. Iniesta doing the passing. And the team still had many matches where the attack simply produced a lower output.

If in the majority of those games you stupidly concede 1 or 2 goals, it's bye bye league title.

You know what's the first thing I saw. 9 clean sheets in 11 games.

For comparision Inaki has kept 6 CS in 25 league games over last two seasons. And "the worst GK in history" 16 CS in 34 games in same time. I'm still convinced we win the league last season with a healthy MATS.

I'm not saying Inaki is the only problem. He's been better than expected (at least my personal expectations were very low so that doesn't say much though) but he is far from a guarantee. But don't want to make this all about Inaki.

Captain obvious but you can't lose when you don't concede. And you can't count on scoring three goals every game. Sometimes you will just have an off day. But with Flick it's either a 3+ goal win or dropping points, no middle ground.

What I also miss are late goals. Too lazy to check so would be interested if someone has stats but I remember we scored lot of game-tying or GW goals under Xavi in last 10-15 minutes. Not the case this season.

We don't have many comebacks either. Can only remember Valencia and Rayo early in the season but since then whenever we conceded first we dropped points. Also lost 6 points from a winning position, four of them (Celta, Betis) very late in games.

And potentially a 6-pointer against Atleti. Probably won't matter anyway as I don't see us getting back into title race but sometimes you must take what you get. We clearly deserved to win (was probably our best game this season or at least my favorite to watch even above both Clasicos - except for the end result ofc) but wasn't to be so should have just taken a point.

So if we also lose next week (don't see how we can beat Atalanta) and finish outside top 8 while being 7 (or more) points behind Madrid in the league are we still doing ok?
