I believe Setien got the Barca job for that 3-4 Betis win in 2018 at Camp Nou. At one point the score was 1-3 and Busi praised Setien's style post-game IIRC.

Seeing Sarabia act like a baboon was quality stuff

So out of their depth it wasn’t funny

Give this man some new signings
What are we doing?

Sign Connor Gallagher. He's class

Lol, the previous manager left because the squad didn't get improvements in the last seasons after the levers in 2022. So... doesn't make sense that all of a sudden money is gonna be available to sign some top players.

Flick is gonna have to make due with the current squad. Basically some old former top players, 2-3 good, but not elite ones of prime age, and some talented youngsters.

Very difficult job ahead for him, but it's still better than no job at all.

Who left?

Xavi left because he run his mouth as much as Laporta and that political battle was only going to have one winner.

Dont blame Laporta for sacking Xavi in end.. he very nearly got out played and then realised it.

Laportas error was trusting his words in the first place and the constant excuses and entertaining them.

It became battle of opposite sides.. Laporta overly positive for what he thought fans wanted to hear and image club should have and Xavi at other making every excuse under book when failed.

For where Barca need to be the positivity of Laporta is what is needed more in that situation between the two.. even if does make club look ridiculous at times.

Flick now gets judged in same way as Xavi did... less money and a better Real.. better Barca squad to come into though...a lot will be forgiven if fans see constant progress on the park.

Laporta mouthpeace Polo with some gems in MD today.

-Hansi Flick values Lenglet's game and his experience and has not ruled it out yet, even considering that he has options to stay in the squad.

-Pau Victor has all but convinced Flick to be Lewandowski's backup

-As soon as he arrived at the club, Hansi Flick requested reports and recordings of base soccer matches and Gerard Martín's performances caught his attention.

This club is so fookin' dead.

Martin and Pau aren't bad, but for FS get rid of lenglet, how many defenders can one team have.

I guess they see Christensen as a Midfielder now, but even then, we should be fine at CB, with Kounde at RB, aaah maybe not so much.

But even then fuck him.

There is zero chance anyone wants Lenglet to stay. At most these comments are just to keep some positivity against his name.

Hopefully Atletico interest is real and he goes.. probably have to pay some of salary but if can save a fair bit then worth it.

Mentioned yesterday that thought Gerard Martin looked decent enough v City.

If they like look of him and back up for first team would imagine Valle would be off for one of those 2/3m and 50% type deals.

On second thoughts there could be some 'strange' scenarios he stays IF Flick really does like him at all.

1. Lenglet has no registration issues.. Inigo does and not yet been registered.
2. If the only offers for Lenglet were say to take him on loan and pay 25% of his salary.
3, Would Barca in that scenario rather keep Inigo on 9m a season and pay 75% of Lenglet at probably around 8m = Paying 17m for the two.
4. Or do they say.. punt Inigo to save on the 9m and issue of registering him and keep Lenglet instead at cost of around 10m trying to keep some value on him and try again to punt next summer.

That is about only way could see him staying IF Flick liked him and could well be type of thing Lenglet is gambling on.
