Apparently Pep wants Henrique to be given another year on loan but rates Muniesa as ready to come into the first team squad and possibly Fontas too.

Muniesa is talented but he`s an accident waiting to happen. I`d hate us to rely on him if our first choice defenders get injured. Henrique on the other hand is experienced player that can be used as RB and CD. He also looks as a modest guy from what I`ve read in his interviews and already blended in nicely. Pep must see something that most of us don`t

That speaks volume doesnt it. Another year on loan is never good news. Thats just a way to advertise him in the hopes that someone will come in next summer with a bid. Cant see him as a Barca player if leaves on loan tbh.

I really don’t understand, first Caceres and now Henrique, a big wtf to whoever suggested their signature and an even bigger wtf to whoever said we should pay that much for them. Sometimes you take risks basded on raw talent. What did they see in those 2? Pep decides hes not good enough after a few games. Where was the video tapes before shelling out those 10 mil!​

Indeed...if it is the case that Pep still doesn't rate him, just shows how shit we've been in signing defenders recently. First Milito, whose problem was evident at the time, and now these 2. To be generous, I could give mgment credit for Pique, but that move happened more because of his initiative than ours.

brazilian CB's only really come in two flavours - cack and awesome.

if he's not awesome, he must be cack. he's certainly not impressed in pre-season. seems mentally weak to let nerves get to him.

maybe he'll stay and come good, maybe he'll go on loan. I dunno, we'll see. fontas has looked world's more solid, though.

chygrynskiy is different class so you can't really compare the two signings.

Where exactly will Muniesa have another year under his belt? Kid is simply too young and I don`t see him starting ahead of Puyol, Marquez and Pique. Even Abidal. Henrique isn`t a top defender but he could have proved a useful backup.

Who said he'll be starting regularly? He won't, but he'll get minutes here and there and will be starting the copa matches and gain experience that way rather than Henrique who won't be at Barça at all.

We are talking about 09-10 season, not 10-11. We need a squad player for this season and imo. Muniesa isn`t it. He is 17 for God`s sake and too prone to mistakes

I'm not saying whether he should or shouldn't play, I'm merely reporting what Pep and Txiki have been saying. But then it's a lot easier to put words into people's mouths than read what they've actually written.

So what's wrong about that statement? Txiki has explicitly said that Muniesa and possibly Fontas will have first team experience this coming season whilst we're looking to loan Henrique out. The logic would appear pretty obvious.

Again, I though we were talking about 9-10 season? "In a years time" seems somewhat far to plan when Barca is still to complete the defense for this season.
