Nice, on the official Barca-website they talk about Afellay as a fast and speedy winger, with an eye for goal. So I guess this confirms that Pep will use him on the wings (rather than in midfield)

One thing is for sure...he won't be catching headlines in Barcelona. He is very low profile.That would be something. Over here Cocu is a legend. Almost brought us back in the CL finals in 04/05.
Yeah, I figured he would be used as he plays on the Dutch squad. He has the potential to become a sensation. Only question is if Villa can handle all those crosspasses he will be receiving.

FFS, why do some people have to bring their religion into everything? 
I look forward to seeing Afellay turn out in the Blaugrana in January, I don't know an awful lot about the kid but most reports are positive and I think we've been very wise in jumping the queue and stumping up some petty cash now rather than waiting for the scramble in the summer. A reinforcement to the midfield was desperately needed, which is effectively what this is as the transfer's designed to prevent Don Andres from having to play up front and let him concentrate on the midfield role.

And not only that. Should Iniesta or Xavi get injured, Afellay can take their place perfectly should we not want to lost creativity(Keita)
And we also have Thiago for that midfield spot.... the team is just much less thin now, because Afellay can play on so many positions. He can be a replacement for: Pedro, Messi, Xavi AND Iniesta. And I can see him getting a starting 11 spot ahead of Pedro if all goes well.
