Anyway, Isco would be a very interesting signing and for a good price. 20mln + Callejon/Morata/Jese? Good for both parties. It definitely symbolises the shift in the formation and a slight prioritization of roles on the pitch. Di Maria's future is not looking too bright. He gets another rival for squad space and is either going to compete with him or get shipped off somewhere after he disappointed this season and we had no real alternative for him.

Hope it happens. If Madrid go away from that ridiculous "counterattacking in 2 seconds from defense to attack transition" approach to a more control- and possession-based game around technical players like Modric, Isco, Özil, preferably in a classic, narrow Ancelotti 4-1-2-1-2 formation with no wingplay, Barca will beat them again. Barca techno midgets >>> Real Madrid techno midgets.

why are people assuming ancelotti will go with a diamond formation just because he used it at milan, he didn't use it at chelsea or psg, well he tried it at chelsea but it didn't work so he went back to 4-3-3, as for ursegor's line-up, that might work on football manager but in real life the defence would get killed with that midfield ahead of them...

At chelsea he maintained the diamond formation. Something which wasn't a familiar formation to him at all. And he did a descent job. So yes agreed, he isn't not a one dimensional coach.
