Perfectly represented Valverdes Barca yesterday. A little bit of everything but in the end it's slow, uncreative, low intensity football with shaky defense and Rakitic pretty much is all that summed up in one midfielder at this point.
Not outstandingly bad yesterday because whole team underperformed and bar Vidal pretty much all players also seemed to lack mentality but Rakitic should definitely be one of the players to be replaced moving forward.
Busquets is worrying too but most important thing is to not play them together any longer, that's just too slow and lethargic in midfield. Even 2 Arturo Vidals couldn't compensate for that.

Everybody knows my opinion of him and his contributions these past seasons so no reason to say it one more time however something that's pissing me off to no end that I can't keep it inside me is how utterly pathetic he is at beating even the slightest pressing.
Don't have fingers on my hand to count how many times he was uninformed about his position or the adversaries position on the pitch was . The guy's single thought in those moments was give the ball back to our back 4. There were times when Liverpool players were 10 meters behind him and instead of turning around and progress the ball forward what does the guy do? He fucking passes backwards to our CB, not knowing that he isn't pressed but inviting more pressure when there was no need for it. You'd understand it if this was the first time it happened but it's not, it's his default quality. How the fuck has this guy been a Barcelona player for this long with this kind of shitty basic understanding of space and movement is beyond me.

Sums up my 2 main issues with him perfectly. He loves to put other teammates in trouble. And he has this amazing gift where he contemplates what to do with the ball for several seconds only to go for a backpass or a sideways pass.

Its crazy how people thought he was world class. Dont get me wrong, normally hes at least solid, but he was never that talented. Not witch Schalke, not with Sevilla. I would like him as a squad player, but that wont work anymore (too much ego and standing within the club). If our team is working hes decent, but that shouldnt cut it here.
