I think the issue is that everyone sees him as a #10 than can play wide, when really he is a wide player that can play #10. His dribbling and close control is amazing at times, but his vision and especially his decision-making is not on the same level. He did not link well with Kane at all for Bayern, unless it was Kane supplying him and not the other way around.

He'll be one of the top stars of this generation, but that doesn't mean he'd be that with players from 10 years ago. He'll score and assist plenty for Bayern and be a key player for them.
