Jean-Clair Todibo

Todibo with Emerson on the right side of defence and either Lenglet or Pique with Alba on the other would be balanced. Obviously have no idea if Todibo will be good enough same for Emerson. In terms of a decent lineup, physically strong and quick with ability on the ball that's the best we can muster without spending big

Who knows Firpo might even blossom and usurp Alba

Emmerson. Todibo..... Pique..... Firpo

Unless someone shows me a 2017 post saying we should sign Robertson, because he's gonna be the best LB in the world in 2 years, everything can happen. The fruits of great management can be incredible rich and surprising.

I can promise you nobody was thinking Pique and Busquets will boss peak United in a CL final, 1 year after Pep was named. Then we all say them improving and improving and by may 2009 it didn't look like a surprise anymore. Same with Liverpool and their players.

Now people make it sound as if Pique and Busquets were undeniable talents. And yet, Pique was barely playing for United when we got him. Busquets was as unknown as Puig is now. Pedro wasn't any bright talent either. Yet he was incredible for us. Neither was any sort of undeniable talent and all of them would've probably failed had they been contemporary with a Barca team managed by Valverde.

I know it's wishful thinking I just can't think of any other suggestions within our squad. Our current defence isn't working. We were physically exploited at the back vs atletico and against many teams this season. Emerson is about as average as Semedo and Roberto so I don't think that's too silly. Only questionable one is Todibo, he probably isn't ready for full on first team football but he's done well enough so far. Can't deny those two would beef up and improve our physicality and speed. Obviously there's much more to defending but again, our current defenders aren't exactly doing great.

Another head scratcher. Especially if we are about to fire Valverde??

It's in line with the utter lack of a sporting plan from Bartomeu. He appears to be waffling on removing Valverde now, like he was in summer - much less than he likely was after Roma as well. No one wants to align with Bartomeu which forces his hand to act and it is abundantly clear for anyone potentially taking over that decisions are being made haphazardly by the board when it comes to personnel. Going the rest of the season with 3 CBs when 1 is regularly a question mark in Umititi, reflects the lack of courage Valverde/Bartomeu had with the squad

Incredible mess and as I have said before, leadership really reveals itself in times of stress/pressure and here we see how incoherent the longterm planning of the club is

Had Bartomeu fired Valverde in the summer, then the club could've recalibrated with a new coach given time to adapt - now, all options underscore the failure of making the right choice earlier. Let's see if Bartomeu has learned anything or continues to double down on mediocrity

You've got to keep in mind, with how utterly horrible this team's players are and how it's literally impossible for any other manager to do as good a job or better, firing Valverde just wouldn't have made any sense last summer or the summer before that. In reality, it's not Bartomeu's or Valverde's fault, the sporting plan is fine. The only real problem is Bartomeu/The board panicking and trying to find a replacement manager without a plan, I'm sure when cooler heads prevail they'll realize that this whole Super Copa thing was just a blip on the radar, and we'll be fine with Valverde in charge going forward, hopefully extending into next season, as well.

The least sensible time to fire a coach who has betrayed the playing style of the club much less have courage in approach is mid-season but the basis to terminate him has been clear since Roma. The loans, sales, dropping of players etc. reflect a poor sporting project if not an altogether absent one. As I say, just look at the club legends, they have distanced themselves from Barto - he, like Valverde, are dead men walking hoping now that a Primera title can help them consolidate power but even that is tenuous at best

There are like 2 and a half CBs in the squad and they are (hopefully) one the verge of sacking the coach but decide to loan a talent like Todibo at the same time.

And now if only one CB gets injured we'll be in a horrible position. Why the fuck would you loan a 4th CB when the 3rd one is as injury prone as it gets!?

Because the idiots believe Araujo from Barca B who's pretty much the Uruguayan Yerry Mina is good enough.

What Valverde did to Yerry Mina was probably the only mistake he's ever made since becoming Barca manager.

I supported the young lad 100%, even when nobody else here did.
