Jordi Roura is pleased with his team's victory over Levante and he says that "it's a very happy day for all of us. Abidal played an entire match and he felt great!"
Barça secured three more points in La Liga to come within touching distance of the title. “We’ll go to Bilbao and try to win the game. We will take this one game at a time and as soon as we can win the title, the better,” said Jordi Roura after this evening’s match against Levante. "There's no doubt that there’s a lot of merit in winning four out of the last five editions of the competition – if we win this year. This is a very difficult tournament,” he added.
The assistant manager went on to reiterate how difficult it is to win the Spanish league: “this Saturday we suffered quite a bit to win the game. This points to how hard the competition is and it gives value to the fact that we’ve won 84 points so far and that we have such a big advantage over one of the best Real Madrid sides ever. It’s normal to have ups and downs. Perhaps we were lacking fluidity but that was largely due to how well Levante played.” He added: “there is nothing that could overshadow our joy if we win La Liga.”
Very happy for Abidal
“This is a very happy day for everyone,” said Roura when asked about Éric Abidal’s return to the starting line-up. “He played the entire match and he feels great! On a footballing level, I think he played well, he’s paced himself perfectly,” explained Roura. “We have to enjoy this moment. We will have time to sit down and talk about his contract extension before the season is over. The important thing is that he played the whole game.”
Abidal also showed that he could be an alternative option for Tito Vilanova this coming Tuesday against Bayern Munich. “All the players that are match fit could get the nod to be in the starting XI on Tuesday,” declared Roura.
A very solid Bayern
Lastly, when asked about FC Barcelona’s rival in the Champions League semi-final, Roura noted that “Bayern are a very strong team, they are having an extraordinary season. However, we are a very competitive side and we are very excited and eager to play them.”

The Catalan midfielder highlighted Barça's excellent league campaign after this evening's victory over Levante
Alexis declared that Barça is ready for to play against Bayern Munich and that the Blaugrana are eager to get a good result
Another night of football at the Camp Nou and another excellent showing from the Cesc-Alexis duo. The two players linked up to score the only goal of the match: Cesc fired the ball into the back of the net after an assist from Alexis. “It was a very important match. We had to win in order to be closer to winning to the title,” said the midfielder. Cesc went on to talk about the importance of the competition: “it seems as though there are people that want to detract value from winning the league, but it’s a very important title. We’ve worked very hard.”
When asked about next week’s important Champions League match against Bayern Munich, Cesc said that “today’s victory sets up well for the game on Tuesday.”
Alexis, Cesc’s comrade in arms
The FC Barcelona forward played a crucial role in his team’s victory this evening as he assisted Cesc for the match winner. The Chilean, who is going through one of his best spells of form this year, talked about his availability in the upcoming matches of the season: “if the manager needs me, I’ll be 100% ready. I’m improving on a daily basis and I’m fitting in with the team.”
When asked about his assist to Cesc in tonight’s match, he said, “we have a good connection. We’re both on form.” With the league title almost won and the semi-final of the Champions League right around the corner, the forward went on to say that “we have to take this one game at a time. All of the teams we play against are difficult to beat. With that said, on the game on Tuesday, we’re ready for Bayern and we hope to get a good result.”
When asked about this future, Alexis declared that his contract runs through 2016 and his objective, at least this year, “is to win La Liga and the Champions League.”
