Mata is easily good enough for Barcelona and would improve the team in an instant.

Left footed player to play on the right been missing since Messi went inside.

How could ANYONE hate Mata. Scores plenty, assists plenty, almost carries Chelsea, and is a huge big game player. On top of being one of the best football players in the world, he has graduated college, he's extremely humble and nice, and is only 25. He's underrated by many considering that he's rarely categorized among the best in the world even though he should be around top 5 imo. He isn't selfish or 'does way too much for his own good' at all, that's just some biased mental image you've created for him.

How come he always runs to his central midfielders to ask for the ball. . . . He is suppose to play from the flanks of the midfield right? I think he should allow everyone do their job. He made it difficult for Oscar to adapt. Definitely selfish when playing for Chelsea. You are the one being biased, not me.

Does he not have the most assists in europe this season? Or close? Hardly selfish.

Could barely get a more wrong description of him.

Mata has been given the freedom to roam, much like Messi yet are you criticizing him? No. Both of them run to their central midfielders to get the ball yet you choose to hate the one who conveniently doesn't play for the team you support. He helps everyone do their job and when he roams into their area, he links up with them very well. It's not his fault that when he roams into Oscar's supposed area, Oscar immediately turns off and loses focus rather than trying to help channel an attack.

He is a strikers nightmare, he play way to close to the striker.

Once again, he's given freedom to roam. He roams in front of the defensive line to disrupt their stability and cause them to move forward, giving the #9 or the other forwards open space to get at goal. Torres remains passive many times and doesn't provide movement or the will to get into goalscoring positions.

Mata is a class act, having an interest in Valencia, I've always stated he was better than Silva. Silva is far too inconsistent and Mata is much more productive.

Would have been a great signing for Barcelona.

I have a feeling it won't happen but it would be a beautiful thing.

We should have went after him in the first place.

Didn't we?

First of all, let's see the reality at Chelsea, Mourinho is going there, he will want to change things just as usual, probably many transfers, including some players from Real Madrid.

It really all does depend on what Mourinho's plans are. If Mata is for sale and not in his plans, I could certainly see Barca making a move for him.

Would Alexis Sanchez be in Mourinho's plans though?
