That picture makes me cringe. I can't believe they did that.

So tell me ducky.. now that Chelsea has officially denied making a bid for Kaka on their official website , who is the embarrassment ?
1- Ducky ?
2- Donald duck ?
3- Riced Duck ?
4- Man Citeh fans ?
5- Chelsea fans ?

Real Madrid as a whole, the fans going round saying he's signed, the world media all saying he's signed then if he goes to Chelsea. It would be embarrasing. IMO

Chelsea fans are, because they are the ones that probably thought they were getting Kaka.

If the facts are true about Liete wanting those types of numbers from Real, and Kaka holding out for Real to sign his brother with him, I would tell Kaka and his father to fuck right off if I was Valdano or Perez. Huge numbers are one thing but also wanting Real to sign another player ONLY because you have a personal connection with him is absolutely absurd and unprofessional. Perez has to show some pride here. There are plenty of other good playmakers in the world that won't cost an arm and a leg and definitely won't try to bully the administration.

Alot of the money they might spend on getting him, they think will get back through various sponsorship deals.

But It's the prestige of a player that owners like Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Perez and Abramovich want. They don't go into football looking for a profit.

Plenty of good playmakers? - Dying breed I think.

Thats because technical football has been outworked by physical, athletic play. You are right in that good playmakers are disappearing.

HOWEVER, there are playmakers by the names of Gourcuff, Nasri, Diego Buonanotte, Giovinco, Diego (just signed though), Aleksandr Aliyev, Guilherme, Ibrahim Afellay, Renato Augusto, Arteta, Hernanes, Moutinho, Thiago Neves, David Silva. Anyway, you get the point. I could come up with some more if I was to sit and research. What does it say about your scouting network if you can come up with only a couple playmakers in the entire world?

To Blueduck: The fact that he believes he can make silly demands (Digao) would make me not to sign him more than the big numbers he's asking for. Furthermore if he asks for those ridiculous numbers and you give in, it makes you look weak and every agent you deal with from now on will try to hassle you.

The names you mentioned are quite unproven, arn't they. Could you even count Silva as a playmaker? He links attack and midfield well, but you wouldn't want him in the centre of midfield conducting the orchestra or anything would you?

SOME are unproven in your perception but all are proven where they play. Football doesn't just revolve around the big three leagues my friend. ;-)

However we aren't talking about proven good playmakers, we are discussing good playmakers. And I'd put Silva behind the front two with holding midfielder and a distributing midfielder behind him. He creates plays: chances on goal, assists, crosses, links play, hence playmaker.

Zidane should be unhappy his transfer record was broken if that's true. £56 million they are paying for Kaka.
