5 goals this league season. Real won't win the league with him as a sure starter.
Maybe if he delivers in CL it doesn't matter for them, but I fear the day Kane puts on the white shirt in the capital - that day our dominance in the league is threatened.

About zero chances of him being a starter next season now, i would say.
Got to think about the positives in these dark times.

Benzema has been a first teamer for years at RM under Mourinho, Ancelotti and Benitez.
Doubt Zidane's resignation will change it that easily.
Back then, he was actually a good striker, in the last couple of years he has been declining hard. Yes, he does have the odd CL-game to live by, but we cant win league titles with Benzema as first choice.

If you're seeing him as an out-and-out striker like Cristiano, Suárez, Lewandowski, Icardi etc. then he isn't. Benzema is still vital for RM's attacking play and creates a lots of space for his teammates thanks to smart runs.
Your leaky defence is the reason why RM haven't been successful in LaLiga.
Striker, not player, as a striker he just isnt good enough.
And yes, a striker is supposed to score goals, everything else is secondary. We have playmakers all over the place to build-up and create chances, we need goalscorers.
Benzema can stay, as i have said, but he cant be our first striker in la liga anymore, rotate him.

CR doesn't work well with pure strikers. He need a sidekick like Benzema. Think of it this way: CR the Catwoman need his Robin

Ronaldo is too old to do it consistantly over a season now, so we need a goalscoring striker, simple as that.

Problem for you is that CR plays like your CF. Why would you buy a pure striker then? Him and CR would only get in each other's way.
And Benzema turns up big time for you in the CL too. Look at his record in that competition. It's actually amazing.
I have said that Benzema should be rotated, not sold, so there will still be CL games for him to play.
Ronaldo should be rotated as well, which he already is, plenty of game time for a new striker. Then next season its probably time to get rid of Benzema and Ronaldo anyways, so the new attackers can take over.

Unless you sign a 2nd tier striker your new striker would want to play every single game and the most important games too, which limits CRs influence so it just won't happen.
That's why CR backs Benz all the time publicly, especially when you lot were booing him. He doesn't do that for many players. It's not that CR would be shit without Benzema, but he's his friend and he knows Benzema's skillset makes his job of scoring as many goals as possible a little bit easier
It's a pity for you lot that Benzema is dumb as hell and doesn't have the hunger most elite #9s had in their careers. Because if he was smarter and hungrier with a killer instinct he would easily be the best #9 in the World. No striker brings more to the table than Benzema when he doesn't score as you can see above.

But if the league really is a priority for them next season there is nothing that prevents Ronaldo from having another 4-goal half season. And that means no league-title.
Even Bale out, Hazard in won't change that, imo. Kane in, Benzema out would. He would also be humble enough to work for Ronaldo in his first season + bag the goals needed to prove himself, though not being top-scorer. If Kane has a good world-cup, why wouldn't Florentino buy him for 200M? They have earned money over some recent windows, and it would be such a strong statement and a true strengthening of the starting-11.
