The team backed him when he couldnt hit the target to save his life in 16/17 and 17/18, not that one should say stuff like this anyway, but he of all people should know better than this.

That's not even the biggest problem. He's portraying himself in interviews to be this youth helper etc so if this quote really came out of him, a 3rd captain behind Ramos and Marcelo, spoken in a foreign language where his teammates cannot understand, and in such circumstances where Vini has more goals in a season than he does, he can GTFO out of this club immediately. He's absolutely burnt if he said it.
If Mendy said it it's still wrong, but damage is less because he doesn't have the status or the Marca/AS whitewashing campaign led by Perez.

what you can really hear from that video is "... nonsense, Brother i don't play with i swear" yes he said "i" but the french media remove it in the translation, it completely changes the meaning... Obviously he was frustrated. He never asked Mendy to not to pass him the ball.
The end is really inaudible, translation is misleading.
the last is really inaudible "he is playing against us" the translation says that but it is misleading. Also in that video you don't hear any "him" or "he" they tricked with pronunciations, at the end you almost hear what is translated but it is really not that.
Also Karim has every rights to tell anything he wants to, people say he talked in french so vini couldn't understand, no he was already talking when vini wasnt there yet. And mendy speaks only french with KB, why would he speak in spanish a language he doesn't understand yet...
