i'm not part on any french forums but yeah some are really upset with this, on national radio some were furious about Benzema coming back. But majority of the french people are happy that he is finally back.

People in France who really like football are happy about Benzema coming back. However, Benzema is not seen only as a football player. He has his part story with the Valbuena sextape blackmailing case, he has bad press with the hooker involvement and he is seen as being more "arab" (from Maghreb) than french by some. Knowing the rise of communitarianism and muslim hatred nowadays, it is quite a troublesome case.


I'm pleased because he is more talented than some potential forward who would be picked in his stead. I like the player and i don't care about the man (same with any other player).
