Kylian Mbappé

He takes after his idol CR7 in that regard.

You'll never get a 'total-football' domination game from him like a Messi at 2011 CL final for example, but you'll get moments where he turns it on and just blasts through the opposition after being a ghost for large stretches of the game.

The qualities to admire in him are mental strength and his insane athleticism

He's growing as a footballer.. thought he looked much more limited a year or two ago. Now he's pretty great at most stuff including dribbling.

Just pales in comparison to Messi, but who doesn't.

Mbappe could go down as one of best ever.

It is not only his pace. He is a very clever footballer also.

Needs to leave France though as the goals he scores there are going to be dismissed to some degree when compared with others.

Apart from great athleticism his attitude and mental strength are great. Wining the WC at 19 does that.
But does ghost a lot for a player in his peak.

I think winning a trophy like the WC at a young age makes one play with house money from there on.

Which is why Messi being kept on the bench in Argentina's penalty shootout loss to Germany in 06 was such an all time missed opportunity. I think Argentina 06 had what it took to compete with Italy and France, and might have won the cup.

2006? They didn't get passed group stage.

Nah fam. They were knocked out by Germany in QFs. They had the lead, and then Germany equalized. And then Argentina lost on pens.

That pen shootout is the only one Argies have lost in WC history. They're 6-1 in pen shootouts.
