Kylian Mbappé

Mbappe I think has struggled to be the main guy and is nowhere near as positionally flexible as the football world thinks.

Yes he was seen as the prince of Paris but he’s had some incredible forward players around him both at club level and international level that allowed him to do his thing. I’d argue that his 2023/24 season was his worst from a general play level and that coincided with his first season as being the main man.

At Real, whilst Vinicius is good, he’s not good enough to play anywhere but the left whereas Mbappe was lucky Neymar was able to move to a central role to allow him to operate on the left. What you’ve got now is two players who shine in the same position, only the guy who’s been their longer is outshining the new toy.

Vinicius is better, but they're both one dimensional as fuck. They're like miles better versions of Garnacho.

Dribble with pace or the odd trick, cut inside, shoot, occasionally go down the line and cross. Neither of them really have any playmaking quality whatsoever, to be honest. That's fine as they're left wing forwards, but Salah plays the same position on the other side and his passing, link-up and playmaking are light years ahead of theirs and always has been.

Throw in Bellingham's lack of playmaking ability, and well, you have a lot of glorified forwards, defensive midfielders in Camavinga or Tchouameni, old man Modric. It's no wonder they look so unconnected and disjointed. They haven't got a single player who can control the game for them or run the show or take the ball on the half-turn CONSISTENTLY. They're more of a counter-attack team anyway but they really scream of a team who have overloaded on forwards and assume that will make them score goals - too many cooks and all that, though.

Compared to the likes of Salah he is, and you know it.

His game is basic - he dribbles, has pace, cuts inside and shoots. He doesn't really do much great in the general play.

Btw, I knew and rated Vinicus when he was 16 and Real Madrid provisionally signed him In July 2016, probably unlike you.

He's a great player, but tell me what is so good about his game? Is he a playmaking winger? Clearly not. He, like Mbappe, is a speed demon, dribbling, goalscoring winger. Nothing wrong with that at all but they don't have many other dimensions to their game. You make a good point though that most wingers are like that.

Weird to ask me to name playmaking wingers anyway when I acknowledge there aren't many and you can still be a better player while being more one-dimensional.

I never said I didn't rate him, just that he doesn't have many layers to his game. Stop being so defensive and get a grip.

Anyway with how bad you look and how you are getting away with it in certain games, Birdy and I have been proved right on you so far this season.

Ancelotti doesn't have any tactical sophistication, and your style of football is lopsided and awful. You're so arrogant that you expect a potential play-off in the CL to be a formality, but I wouldn't be so sure.

For what it is worth I am not entirely convinced that Barca won't implode under Flick, so La Liga is still all to play for.

Find it funny that people are now naming Salah as a complete winger. Because few years back, football purists(who claim to understand the game better than others but ironically parrot the same cliched wannabe expert narratives) used to call Salah one dimensional and give examples like Hazard and Neymar. 😂🤣

They paid 120 mil sign on fee bro.......
I read it was 150. In addition to his 20m net salary meaning he's costing them around 50m/y net. And he also kept his ad rights, meaning they don't make money with his face as clubs usually do with players. He weighs on Madrid's purse considerably, make no mistake. A player with his standing is extremly expensive, no matter what some Madridistas want you to believe.

I have always said Salah is a great playmaker and argued with my bro who says he is as invisible in general play as Ronaldo has been. So doesn't apply to me I am afraid.

Hazard and Neymar are playmaking wingers too, yes.
