Think 14-16 was the peak of La Liga tbh. Very competitive at the top, 3 teams could win it. Came down to the last 2-3 matches in all 3 years. We won by 1 point when Leicester won the PL by 10  Think the league has regressed since then.

How has the league regressed, when Real Madrid can't even beat their games?

I was talking more about the quality of midtable teams who have all undoubtely improved since 2016 and I won't even compare them to 2010-13 period. So while the big 3 teams might regressed it looks like we are getting back stronger Valencia which is what La Liga needs. Sevilla and Villarreal have their own problems but they are staying where they are supposed to be. But teams behind them are closing the gap to the top 6 and many teams can also beat or at least play very close games against Barca or Real who have easily beaten these same teams 3 or 5 years ago.

Sure, you can say that Barca and Madrid have regressed and I don't totally disagree with that but a reason why we don't see 5-0, 6-2 and similar results as often anymore is because smaller teams and the league in general have improved.

This. Plus we have teams like Betis, Celta Vigo and Girona, who are slowly but surely getting to the level of Villareal and Sevilla and are bridging the gap of quality which was present in La Liga in the past. The table shows this. We can take Athletic as an example, who I think have stayed on some kind of similar footballing level. They used to be somewhere between 5th and 9th, quite consistently. Now they are 12th.

If La Liga wants to capitalise on that, they must add goal line technology (not the full-on VAR, which takes away from the game) and get rid of a biased president who is openly supporting one of the teams and is borderline racist.

Probably they still don't know they both have a CL group stage spot starting from next CL

Wait, 4th place automatically qualify for CL group stages? No worries then, Sevilla will never catch us anyways.
If we win the CL again, it doesnt really matter though.

Translation: We will lube ourself up for Atleti and take it from behind, during the Madrid derby in April. We will do anything to prevent Barca from winning the league, even if that means getting shafted by Atleti.

You're welcome
I really like Girona honestly. I just watched El Dia Despues and it suggests Maffeo tried to help Suarez get the yellow XD.

Would be nice if they do, means we can become champions against Madrid in the match at Camp Nou.
Too bad it's not at Bernabeu :hooray:

Uhm, no? Atletico winning the derby is actually the best option to prevent that from happening.

After the Real match, we have 3 games left to play in La Liga, meaning we would need a 9 point gap minimal to be crowned champions.
Currently we are 7 points ahead of AM, but winning this Sunday means we would be 10 points ahead (yes, I calculate a win this Sunday)

So starting the match against Real with a 10 point lead over AM, would mean we would be crowned champions if we win the match against RM.

Is there a chance that Real lost on purpose ? . There is no better time than this to gift Espanyol something for what they did for Rm over the years .
