You can see why Deco flew to Turkey and tried to close Arda Guler.

Might have been frozen out Vitor Roque style here anyway. Ancelotti seem to have done a great job keeping his head steady until he was ready to contribute.

Nothing to play for in last round.

Sociedad won at Villamarin and qualified for Europa League alongside Athletic, Betis will go to Conference league.

Cadiz needed a win against Las Palmas to keep their hopes of staying up but only got a goalless draw so they will join Almeria and Granada in Segunda. Mallorca also got a point they needed vs Almeria.

Talking about Segunda - with two rounds left there are three teams still competing for two direct promotion spots - Leganes (70), Valladolid (69) and Eibar (68). Racing Santander currently sits 4th (64 points) and need just a point to get into playoffs.

Very important game between 5th Espanyol (62) and 6th Oviedo (61) tomorrow. Then we have teams from 7th to 11th position - Gijon and Elche (both 59), Racing de Ferrol (58), Levante and Burgos (both 57) still with chances to finish in top 6.

Racing Ferrol dropped two very big points today against Zaragoza in 93rd minute. OTOH that was important draw for Zaragoza to stay 3 points above the relegation zone.

Everything is settled in LaLiga EA Sports 2023-24 for the last matchday up and down, so there will be no unified schedule. Initially, it had been set for Saturday 25 at 9 p.m., but at that time only Real Madrid-Betis will be played. The rest of the matches have changed completely with nine time slots. Only the one on Sunday 26 at 6.30 p.m. is free, in which the penultimate day in the Second Division will be played.

Good point. Same position as Lamine so probably wouldn't play much unless he can work in midfield. But looks like one of those Ozil Felix types off the ball.

LaLiga is expected to distribute around 1.5 billion euros for television rights this season. Of that total, 8.5% (about 127 million) is given as aid to non-professional football and other sports disciplines. What remains (about 1,373 million) is divided into two parts. Of the first 50%, about 750 million euros, the amount is identical for the 20 clubs in the category. That is, the 20 teams will receive a fixed income of around 37.5 million euros. This game is independent of your final position in the standings.

But the remaining part (about 623 million) is distributed on a percentage basis depending on the final position that each team obtains in the table. The champion takes 17% of that second half and the figure is reduced to 0.25% that the last classified takes. So, staying in one position or another clearly influences the money that you end up receiving from the employers.

1. RM - 143m
2. Barca - 130m
3. Girona - 118m
4. Atletico - 106m
5. Bilbao - 93m
6. Sociedad - 81m
7. Betis - 68m
8. Villarreal - 59m
9. Valencia - 56m

Barca are actually getting done dirty with the 37.5m fixed money which goes to all teams.

Barca games are the most watched in La Liga worldwide by a large margin. So, we are essentially bringing significantly more money to the party than everyone else, though this is not reflected in money distribution.

Looking at viewership figures, La Liga is massively in trouble if Barca decides to leave the league. A big proportion of Madrid fans only exist to hate on Barca, rather than support Madrid, and their interest in a league without Barca would diminish incredibly as well

Barca should start pushing for more based on these facts.

Dovbyk with a hatrick and 2 pens, and back on top of the scorers chart. Great to see those City Group 115 charges reaching Spain.

Eric Garcia also with the opening goal. Probably didn't get the memo that Xavi is leaving.
