Valencia - Barcelona ->>> PPDA: 7.2

Mallorca - Real Madrid ->>> PPDA: 16.7

Attention to the question - why is this so?

Why is what so
You didn't say whose PPDA you're quoting

Low pressure is hardly a new thing at RM. Higher number also expected when opponent going to have less of the ball

About Mbappe's pace, stats from all over Europe say that teams are using younger and younger wingers lately.

Their prime is often in the age 18-24.
After the age of 27, something like 90% of wingers nowadays see a huge drop in pace and performances.

Stats say that wingers aged 27+ have less short sprints, less dribble attempts etc.
Majority of wingers either see a huge decline when they are nearing the age of 30, or they change their position and role like Messi, Neymar, Cr7 when they move centrally where the pace is less needed than on the flanks.

All in all, science implies that Mbappe is past his best winger years.
Yet as a no 9, he seems to suck.

So, Barca has a huge chance.
We don't have money, yet Real ruined their winning formula with a posterboy Mbappe.

They got their own Fabregas, Griezmann or Coutinho.

Wolfe with his usual condescending cameo whenever Madrid drops points

PS: Silly to even try to draw any conclusion from 1st game of a season
