Yeah, Zvezda should be a field day for our front line lol. To be honest could be one of the largest wins in our club history if we start off with a good momentum. They're really ass.

Perfect opportunity to rest crucial players though, should be more useful than handing them a generational hammering. Zvezda is not beating us in this universe, maybe some other.

Ofc Flick and the players should be giving it all for this match, plenty of time to rotate and rest after it.

The question is, can they recover enough as to be as intense like vs. Bayern? Cause otherwise Madrid might pull out yet another win in el clasico.

Bayern was good for the soul, but this one really counts. We were the better team last season, but lost. Hopefully we are luckier this time.

A win would be massive.

Yeah, this one counts much more. 3pts here and it's our title to lose from this point. I think 2 out of 3 results favor us. Just don't lose.

Same line-up as Bayern except Olmo in for Fermin.

Not the time switch it up now.

Can rotate against Espanyol and Crvena.

I would play Gavi there.

Pedri Casado low is undroppable right now.
Question is who is fitter/better suited for the advanced role.
Normally it's Olmo, right now he does not have many minutes in his legs THO, and the situation of the game may require different approach

Gavi has the intensity and movement to (together with Raphina's movement) totally make them crumble in stealing and breaking.
Gavi for 45-55 min, then Fermin, and Olmo to come in as LW/RW as he did against Bayern

Gavi has played 19 minutes after being out for a year. Suffered a serious injury, his level is still unknown, and as far from being match fit as it gets.

Makes no sense to start him over Olmo, who’s been out for a short while, or Fermin if Olmo is not match fit.

Think people take it for granted his injury won’t impact him long term or that this Gavi is same as before. Hoping it’s so but let’s wait and see.

Simple. I use bigger sample size than a few games.

Vinicius is nearly a lock for BD. Best player in the world that fecker.

On paper, despite Barca's good form, Madrid is still superior. But this means nothing if several of our players deliver the goods big time during the match.

We have beaten them quite frequently even during our financial issues while they were beating every side in Europe in big games bar maybe City.
Sensible post.
Madrid are favourites outside the minds of most Barca fans. I am a Barca fan and want Barca to win, but I am not that deluded by recrnt results to think that RM are there for the taking. Its a going to be more interesting/dramatic than expected by a lot of people here.

This is the biggest test so far. It will be more interesting if Flick decides to start with or even deploy the highline at any point as he did vs. Bayern. They got pace.

Just refer back 2 years ago to Man City 4-0. Vini and Mbappe do not want to press the ball all game. They want to sprint on the counter. Make it a high pressure game just like vs City and they will crumble. Modric is 39 yrs old. He will not hold up in a sprint fest. Especially after Dortmund game where RM had to run a lot to make up the 2-0. Those are hard miles.

Just please don't play at the halfway line. Play a mid block and work your way up. Make Vini and Mbappe earn their goals and guess what RM maybe score 2 goal max. I think we all can agree 2 goals is reasonable.

RM is not surviving our attack. Even if they get goals...and they will. Vasquez is in big trouble against Raphinha. If they play Militao at RB cool that weakens their attack some more. Also forces Tchoumeni to play CB. So, I don't think they will put Militao at RB. Barca should get at least 2 if they weather a few storms from RM. I see a world where there is a remote possibility that Barca slams them about 4-1.

Yeah, I think Flick won't change a winning team as long as they're fit. I wouldn't start Olmo so soon, he's too injury prone to risk him again. Ancelotti watched our game yesterday for sure and won't repeat the same mistakes with a high back line, I'm sure of it. I expect a Madrid that sits deeper and gives us the ball, to wait for mistakes and fast counter attacks.
Flick needs to prepare the team for Madrid's power phase, that will surely come in the second half. That's when it counts against them to hold the ground. Otherwise you can still lose in the last 15 minutes even being 2 goals up.

It's time to risk Olmo
This is the game we need him for.

Rest is manageable

It's either Fermin with Olmo coming in or Olmo with Fermin coming in. If Olmo is fit for 60 minutes he should get the nod.

Fermin gave 2 world class assists but we lost alot of control with him in midfield.

Other option is Frenkie. Frenkie-Casado with Pedri ahead of both.

But anyways, this isn't the game to think about managing fitness, but the game to go with the best you have available.

After Madrid we have Red Star and then easy (on paper) LaLiga games with a weeks rest. The run is relatively smooth up until the next International break.

Obviously Madrid are favorites. Better rested, more individual quality, world class coach, playing at home. Should be motivated too as they are behind us.

Maybe Barca will be a bit drained both physically and emotionally after big win against Bayern.

We will see. I would take a draw.

I dont know if I have disagree with any post as hard as with this one.

Catalans are favorites. They rested good enough already, they have more individual quality than Real Madrid, Hansi is a better coach. Barcelona players are motivated because theres so much young hungry blood with Barcelona in their heart. Even old Lewandowski I feel like loves Barcelona more than he loved Bayern and he wants to become an icon there.

Drained emotionally after big win against Bayern? They are pumped hard emotionally after big win against Bayern :)
