Not ideal but would try to rest as many players as we can. Lamine will probably start since he rested against Celta but I would prefer to give him more rest anyway. It's probably the last chance.

The solution is much more simple even if games are not reduced.

It is to have a European club football window running the course of the season, and then the international football window after it.

That way in the club football off season you have all your international games. Qualifiers, Nations League, World cups whatever.

The theory would be that in the international window you have many more players to select from, so more players would get rested and rotated.

So someone like Pedri and Lamine can play half the nations League games, then a different set of call ups can play the other set of Nations League games.

No need to go that far. Things were working well before inflating both club and international matches. Go back how things were 20 years ago.

Fifa is going full retard unfortunately with both their club championships and now even talks that 64 clubs would participate in World Cup. In Saudi Arabia.

It's pointess to talk about less games, it will never happen out of 2 reasons.

1. Football is first of all a business nowadays and no businessman will decrease his income
2. Even if they agree to reduce games, no one would actually agree to cut his own competition, because of point 1.

What Fifa will do in the future I expect is to allow bigger squads, more players on the bench, more subs. The money must continue to flow, so expect like 7 subs and 3 players more on the bench in the near future. As a result, the games get even more generic, nobody will care about them 2 days later, the quality will continue to decline. That's the future of fooball.
But fans have only themselves to blame, because they continue to finance this shit show.
I agree with this. In the end we want to see the best players not subs.

Your right. But we won't reverse the amount of games at this point unfortunately. So the only other option is mitigation.

The issue we have right now is international games, plus this switch of training regiments and intensities but disrupting the flow of the club seasons causing both losses of form and injuries.

It's no coincidence that both of our drops of form this season have been post international breaks. And I would love more data on injuries, but I suspect there would be a correlation there too.

So this way would create two seasonal blocks uninterrupted, with the option of players being able to be opted out from full international windows.

Won't happen because as you say too, Winter world cup will be the status quo until the middle nations get bored.

I wrote about that years ago, it's a good idea. We could have club season from August to end of April and then May and June for qualification and the big NT tournaments.

It would benefit both, clubs would have uninterupted season and the NT coaches would prefer having their players for 2 months and not only 2 weeks every few months.

Give Olmo a good amount of minutes in second half so that he's ready to start Copa final.

Mallorca may even chuck this game more or less with their line up and focus on weekend.

Surely has to go heavy rotation here whatever that would look like.

The fullest of rotation probably being but bit too much that..

Fort Araujo Chistensen Gerard.

I wouldn't risk Olmo from the beginning in such a game to be honest. Better start with Fermin and Ferran, keep Olmo as a decider for second half if need be.

True tbh.

Don't really care about Copa when we have those games ahead. Playing a final in a congested schedule makes it feel like Carabao or Supercopa.
