Lautaro is a player for Pep and for no one else.
He fits Pep's profile.
In all other clubs in the world, he'll play like shit.
He is better than we are rating him on this forum but worse than his transfer fee. Any team that he will play off the main striker he is fine. Inter, Atletico Madrid, etc.
Expecting him to replace Suarez or Aguero, two of the elite strikers of the past 12 years in a lone role though is asking for problems at the highest level (CL and 2/3 LaLiga sides). Maybe Pep can work around it better than ourselves as he has a more dynamic and faster group of players to support him with.
Can't see haaland going to city while pep is still there, not his type of striker and raiola hates pep. If haaland continues improving, I can see him going to juve to replace CR7 after a couple of years
Really good point. I did not consider that. City's loss then.
We might want to re-consider our position with Raiola though in certain circumstances. Two of our top strikers in the past 25 years were Ronaldo and Romario- both only stayed one season. If a Raiola talent is the best option on the market today, then there is no harm in having him in our team for 2/3 years and selling him for a profit rather than signing a lesser player who flops and we get stuck with for years. Just an idea.
I said it before, but killing it with those 2 seasons with Haaland (just an example) is better than having an overplayed overaged Suarez for those two seasons or signing someone like Piatek, Jovic, Raphael Leao, Lautaro? for a medium/high fee and having them flop.
Your also buying time for someone who is developing to turn into a sure thing. And somebody else's time and not your own is what the very elite clubs always need.
