Lautaro Martinez

Messi probably told City to buy Lautaro so that Messi, Aguero, and Lautaro can all play together next season at City.

Messi cant leave this summer unless Barca want him to and Pep wont want him there anyway.

Pep wont give up the principles of that team to accommodate Messi and would not want to be know as 'only winning CL with Messi' if it happened.

Will never happen in my opinion.

True and I am sure Messi would make other City players lazier too. If someone gets freedom to do whatever, others want some freedom too. It would kill their team play.

Someone posts a so called news article, based on nothing really other than pure speculation from the ones who wrote it for clicks. Discussion suddenly changes to the real "problems" barcaforum users have - Messi is too lazy and would turn the City dressing room into a circus. Also the usual debate about Messi's ability to perform in the "though" Premier League. JESUS FUCKING CHRIST ON A BICYCLE!

Not only Messi would be head and shoulders above all City players, he would be a God in that league. They would suck him off day and night

Pep wants Lautaro because he is a very good player. He just isn't a "sign at all cost" kind of player just like Coutinho and Dembele and Barcelona have to stop these kind of deals. We're not the kind of club who can afford it financially and don't have half of asia's lawyers to overturn FFP irregularites.

Actually though, Haaland to City is what they should be looking at. There a big club now and his dad is a cult hero at da Citeh. Fans from the early 2000's need not buy a new shirt either, which is great for the environment.

Can't see haaland going to city while pep is still there, not his type of striker and raiola hates pep. If haaland continues improving, I can see him going to juve to replace CR7 after a couple of years

Lautaro is a player for Pep and for no one else.
He fits Pep's profile.

In all other clubs in the world, he'll play like shit.

There were also credible reports about Man Utd wanting to sign him pre-COVID. Obviously with Martial and Greenwood doing so well now and them having money issues like everyone else they don't need him now. Sancho is their priority.

Sports teams sign/draft players based on their traits all the time. Although they obviously don't cost 111m which is the issue here.

Had Lautaro cost 60m I think people would've been fine with it with a lot of other teams going for him too.

This is essentially, like with other Barca signings, a boom or bust signing. No middle ground.

This time the bust is 90% though.

He is better than we are rating him on this forum but worse than his transfer fee. Any team that he will play off the main striker he is fine. Inter, Atletico Madrid, etc.

Expecting him to replace Suarez or Aguero, two of the elite strikers of the past 12 years in a lone role though is asking for problems at the highest level (CL and 2/3 LaLiga sides). Maybe Pep can work around it better than ourselves as he has a more dynamic and faster group of players to support him with.

Really good point. I did not consider that. City's loss then.

We might want to re-consider our position with Raiola though in certain circumstances. Two of our top strikers in the past 25 years were Ronaldo and Romario- both only stayed one season. If a Raiola talent is the best option on the market today, then there is no harm in having him in our team for 2/3 years and selling him for a profit rather than signing a lesser player who flops and we get stuck with for years. Just an idea.

I said it before, but killing it with those 2 seasons with Haaland (just an example) is better than having an overplayed overaged Suarez for those two seasons or signing someone like Piatek, Jovic, Raphael Leao, Lautaro? for a medium/high fee and having them flop.

Your also buying time for someone who is developing to turn into a sure thing. And somebody else's time and not your own is what the very elite clubs always need.

so remind me again...

All we had to do to secure Haaland was pay his 17 mil buyout clause and offer him guaranteed playtime + Pay Pizzaman his 10 mil delivery fee?

Should've done it and assign Suarez the role of Spanish tutor.

where's the glitch?

donde esta el ...glitcho???
