How much would that be? Do you think he's worth more than 40m or is it because he still has many years on contract?

I'd say £45m minimum considering his age, years left on contract and that unquestionably he is among the top ten best players in the world.

I'd settle for £40m plus a player though. or even less in monetary terms for a really good Arsenal player. But that won't happen.

40 million is a fair price. Maybe Liverpool are deluded as to the value of players. They paid 35 million for Andy Carroll after all.

And Barca paid £70m for Zlatan. Your point being?

£40m for Suarez is a joke of an offer really unless it involves a player coming the opposite way.

£45m would be a respectable offer imo. One I'd think we'd consider seriously.

Arsenal just fucked themselves really with that £40m plus a pound offer.

My point is Suarez is worth exactly 40 million. As for Zlatan, at that moment in time he was probably worth the same.

I don't think so. It really is a fair price taking everything into account. To compare, look at mario gotze. I know he was bought with a buyout but he is much younger and will likely become the best in the world in his position. He cost less and his was a fair price. Suarez at 40 million is more than reasonable.

If Suarez had 3 seasons of being epic in the EPL under his belt, I'd say he'd be worth more, but his breakout season was the recent one. 40 is fair IMO.

Something that's not messing with their minds, honestly. Fair bid, considering all the baggage he brings with his undoubted skill. If he was clean and not a troublemaker Liverpool would have a genuine right to ask for more than 40m IMO.

It's now not a matter of what he's worth, it's how much Liverpool can milk from Arsenal, especially cause they are in the same league and could hurt Liverpool's top 4 aspirations. Fair enough I guess, but I'm sure they know he ain't worth 50.

You put a lot of stock in 5m from a offer going to be a joke to respectable. 40M seems a fair price, given the baggage.

40m + Bendtner + of course that pound.

Still don't quite believe we're actually bidding 40m for anyone....

You have money to spend now you have paid off most of your stadium. You also have great sponsorship deals and are making a profit by finishing top four consistently. If you spend the money properly then the future looks bright for Arsenal. You are one of the most financially healthy clubs in the world.
