This Madrid is pretty good actually, tied for 1st in the league defensively with Courtois having the best goalkeeper record in any of the top European leagues(?). The goal difference is virtually the same, because we now concede very little but also have problems scoring with the personnel we got. Last year we dropped to third on the back of terrible defence from LB and lack of gas in midfield to cover the gaps. This year it’s gone and we’re tied for top in January. If Hazard hadn’t gotten injured we very well could have been leading by 3 or 6 points right now.
