Just leave Suarez at the locker room. The man lost virtually every single ball he played. Messi needs to stop with his fancy attempts from deep positions, while the midfielders are high up. It leaves us exposed on the counter. That's why I want proper midfielders in build-up.

what man? IT is a pet.

I've never seen setien be proactive with his subs. Zidane would take out 2 players at half time. Setien will wait for the usual 65-70 minute mark. That might be slightly better than fraudverde but not good enough. This team is pretty unwatchable. And we are the most ardent fans out there. Imagine anyone else having to watch this...

Well, I guess the performance against Villarreal was a bit of a fluke. Another slow, unathletic showing from the team. Messi turning over the ball way too much, even if he does have by far the most touches.

If Messi wasn?t Messi I?d leave him in the locker room as well, not a single positive involvement. Good luck making a Youtube comp out of this one

At least he is trying to make things happen. Same can’t be said about his two amigos up front. Suarez, in particular, has been fucking awful.

Old team that cant move.

The amount of touches Pique/Busi and even MATS take on ball is ridiculous. They kill so many chances to move ball up park and allow Espanyol to get back in position.

Roberto and Griezmann and at times Messi are only ones who look to move ball quickly.

Messi needs to realise by now he has lost a yard of pace and these constant dribbles at throat of opposition more often than not are not helping the team.

Yes, how can you break the bus is you don't move? You can't.

We are terrible at moving the ball fast once we are in a pocket of little space. That is not exploited well, and Espanyol regroup in no time. The key to beating a parked bus is to find those pocket of space and then use it to draw opponents and create triangles and quick passing sequences. Without proper movement you are in no position to connect the passes together. And everyone has to take 3-4 touches.

The pass and move in this team, the pillar of proper progression through possession, has been forgotten, sadly.

Playing highline with two slow CBs is a recipe for disaster, add to that having both FB in very advanced role and we basically invite trouble to our team.

Griezmann is doing ok and about only one consantly moving and he set up about only chance of half.

Not been great but he at least looks like trying to do the right things.

Suarez barely moves and when ball somehow finds him he fucks it up.

It's a sham - this team lies to fans and themselves that they play this way because they think it's the best way. It's clearly not. They know the amount of hard work it takes to match teams, so we play in this pathetic coward like manner and hope Messi does something magical.

Once we have a pocket of space, nobody wants to make the run and take the initiative. Let's just keep playing slow and hope something happens. Disgraceful.

Yeah thays what happens when you switch forward in first gear tempo, with slow ploddibg side ways passing and no players making runs.

Its good that we went with the same lineup (minus Vidal) as it proves that what worked against Villarreal is not a consistent solution.

Roberto is a fine carrier when the game is vertical and space is on a platter but is not a creator or innovator in closed down games where you need a bit more guile. Just not his game.

Ideally your looking at a half time sub with Puig coming on to speed up the final third. Let's see how long that move takes.

Oh and that back trio with Busi as the pivot is gamechanger... For the opposition.
