That's not what I saw. If anything I think he was being too eager at times and would often pursue his opponent back into their own half.

.

Yea exactly, he battled with Mandzukic and won the ball high up the field many times. Sometimes too high. There is a physicality to his game that you dont expect. Hes not soft at all. I saw it when he clattered that bayern player in Munich when he got the yellow going for an aerial ball and again tonight, even when he was hit in the face.

keep him till next season, analysing CBs is really hard,it is easy to see potential in Deulo and Thiago when they do crazy goals, dribbles, show creativity, vision, etc. but spotting talent in a CB is harder, you have to look at him the entire game, how he positions himself, how he anticipates danger, his reactions, agresivness and decision making(most important attribute imo,it is seperates Mascherano from the likes of Thiago Silva,to know when to dive in,when to hold your ground,to know when to break out of defence to stop the ball getting to the opposition striker and when to cover the space, how close to stick to someone, etc.)
He needs a run of games for us to see how he does,to see these attributes in action, and he should spend some time in the gym, then we can decide if he is Barca material or not!

Besides, it would be ridiculous to judge him based on a handful of performances in a season. Just look at the amount of playing time Sanchez has had over two seasons.

I know it's funny considering we conceded three goals tonight, but I think both him and Pique were very, very good. Bartra is really making incredible progress with each game he plays, and the potential he's been showing lately is more than I've expected. Probably more than most of us expected. Don't loan him or sell him, give him minutes. He's more than ready, and he's working his ass off. Seems to be good in the air, as well.
Agree fully, no idea what game JamDav was watching.

Made numerous interceptions and had a 90% pass success. Tried to motivate others around him to press more and ventured forward well albeit too far forward at times, but he's learned that from Pique.

Think he's going to be a very good defender, although not sure if that will be at Barcelona.

Played with his heart yesterday and at least gave everything.
I'd say we rotate him more next season or send him out on loan to another La Liga team to get more experience!

People who are complaining him being out of position need to understand that somebody has to cover for Dani Alves for full 90' and Pedro/Sanchez can't do that all the time. And when we have Alves and Adriano as RB and LB then, Well...

Agree that should've been played more in the league etc. this season, but what a massive experience gained for the fella over the 2 legs.

Inter intersted in him... one year loan would be perfect, experience in seria A!!! but dont sell him, like his style, he could be a better pique in a few years, ballplaying CB, who actually is agressive and good in the air!!!

If Inter play with three at the back next season, he might see some time. Other than that, not sure unless there's another injury crisis like this season. Then again you never know with Inter these days. A broken Samuel or Chivu would probably get more playing time than Bartra

One thing about Bartra though - he does like Inter.
