I wonder what changed with Verratti. All of the reports said he wasn't going to report on July 4; then he did. Maybe he doesn't want out as badly as we thought. Either way, it's time to move on and sign a proper midfielder.

Of course there are options. Verratti was always a total pipe dream. Signing starters from rich clubs is not a proper strategy. A proper strategy is to sign the best players under 25 who have yet to move to a rich club! But that requires to not focus on just starters from PSG and Chelsea.

I'm only talking about Verratti's case here. You can blame the board for all other things for all I care but to blame them for not being able to sign Verratti is stupid.
