If he get to play under Mancini then it's a good start atleast.
With Adriano not managing to stay fit for a lenghty time, Douglas will for sure gonna see much playing time if Montoya leaves in January and Alves in summer(and in case transfer ban is upheld which seem very likely).
Struggling to remember the last time Adriano stayed fit for two consecutive months, and that's even with the squad player role that he has.

If Montoya leaves he's going to be perpetually overrated here and is going to be really annoying. Every time he does something positive in a match this thread is going to be necroed by someone wanting everyone to know what the team missed and how terrible they were by letting Montoya go etc etc.
The real problem here is the negligence by the board for not finding a proper replacement for Alves, because Montoya really hasn't shown to be anything special. Once again the board shows the lack of vision and foresight that had let this team deteriorate to the current state.
Can't wait to see what magic they conjure now at the RB position the next couple of seasons.... Not!

The final decision will be before the end of this year and I think he will force his way out anyway.
Yes, in the 90 minutes he has played this season he showed us nothing at all.
It should also be noted that we don't need anything "Special" at RB. We just need someone better than "What was the board thinking" Douglas and "I was born with glass bone marrow" Adriano, which Montoya could easily be if he wasn't given two games every half of the season and called crap when he doesn't shock the world in either of them.

Montoya has played more than 90 minutes in his Barcelona career, moot point by you.
Yes he's getting a particularly raw deal this season, specially in light of the way Alves has been playing, but that he has gotten little playing time at Barca is part of why he's not special, not the reason why. If he were really good, he would have force the hand of not one, but three different managers.
Also, Barcelona certainly need a special talent at RB because they without a doubt need a starting RB for the present and future. That the RBs they have right now are underperforming to the point Montoya might be the best of the bunch doesn't change the fact they still need a better player for the position.
The two issues are separate:
Montoya is unfairly (at least to the eyes of us fans who don't know what goes on behind doors) not getting a shot at RB, with other players in the position visibly struggling.
The RB position needs, and has needed for a while, serious upgrade because Alves has declined terribly and Montoya has certainly not shown any special talent aside from just being merely serviceable.

Lucho rates him as his 4th choice RB behind Adriano and Douglas so in his mind, Douglas and Adriano are already there for the RB position.
