and still people want every fb to be great at attacking?
Yes, we need those outlets provided by the fullbacks, Montoya got the ball in their half or final third and did absolutely nothing with it. That picture on the top of this page where he dilly-dallied for a year and didn't get the cross off because of it and a random flick from either Xavi or Cesc that he also fluffed were his only notable moments in the final third.
Pair alba with Montoya and our side will be balanced.
I don't understand this idea at all, all that does is make it so we can't properly attack on one flank; it's not the two attacking fullbacks that hurts us, it's that they are both up at the same time and leave us with two center backs and Busquets to stop counters. If Alba stays back while Alves goes up and vice versa, I guarantee we will be fine and we'll not limit ourselves attacking wise.
Was Abidal a beast at attacking?
I don't know, you tell me...
If you put in a 1000 crosses you are bound to get one on target.
I would take 1/1000 instead of 0/0 any day of the week.
pique who let him get ahead of a cross when he should have scored a tap in and masch who failed to track him during the goal.
Those are isolated incidents, they mean absolutely nothing. You wouldn't say Messi was poor against a defense because he missed a chance, no reason you should say a defender was poor because he let an attacker slip by him. Are those incidents worth looking at and commenting on? Yes. Does one incident mean a player was actually poor? No. Every time Muniain took on Montoya he got past him, I don't remember once thinking, "Nice defending," when Montoya was involved. I do not think we should offload him, but he played poorly and needs to step his game up with how few fullbacks we currently have.
And do I have to explain what I mean by the youngest? It means the most inexperienced newcomer.
Oh yeah, like we hate on Roberto and never want him to play, or like how we want to keep Pedro and sell Deulofeu, or how we've blamed Bartra for when we conceded goals this season. All of us hate kids, it's the sad truth of it.
