Would he accept a bench role here? I mean, sure, we could promise him Iniesta's position once he's done, but when exactly is that? 2 seasons? 3 seasons?
I really like Rafinha, and I'd hate to see another young player take some of his minutes. I know Rafinha can cover both the flanks and central positions, and I assume that Kovacevic is mainly central, but then what about Samper? He'd suffer too, assuming he's actually staying here.
If Lucho is hellbent on signing a new young midfielder, he looks like a good option, but I really don't think we need one from the outside right now.

Feet aside, he would still take minutes from those two. Minutes especially Rafinha needs.
Perhaps he's modest, but does that really have anything to do with him possibly riding the bench, when he should be getting all the minutes he can?

busquets ,rakitic, arda turan, iniesta and rafinha will all be ahead of him in the pecking order
and we still have samper in Cm and the return of dennis suarez
let him go wherever he is need, we dont have to buy players just so madrid dont get them, we should buy players we really need

Imo, Kovacic would except a bench role here.
About other points, Rafinha and Samper, you are somewhat right.
But then again, why are we trying to buy Pogba, and a new Pogba (Gerson)?
I want to say, if we don't need new midfielders, then ok, we shouldn't buy Kovacic, Pogba or new Pogba-Gerson.
But if we want to buy some new midfielders, than Kova is the most logical option.
He fits the best our system and he is not expensive, nor have high wages.
Pogba costs 85 M (transfer fee), 12 M wages, 15 M image rights.
Gerson, the new Pogba, who the hell is Gerson, and if we will pay 15-20 Millions for extremely unproven young Brasilian, then we should have bought much more proven Kova (especially since Modric and Rakitic, his Croatian teammates, played and are suited really well for Real and Barca in the recent years).
User Maxy started a joke about how we need to buy one Brasilian each Season and one Arsenal's player.
In the beginning it sounded like a joke, but now I am really concerned.
