Palacio is the reason Messi isnt a World Champion. Its painful to think about.

Had Messi been in better form and finished his own chance then Argentina would have been World Champions. It just wasn't meant to be for them. They got another chance in 2018 if they don't mess up. Meanwhile they should focus on getting a Copa America which could be their first after many years, but the competition will be tough with Brazil, Chile, Uruguay and Colombia all raring to go for it.

If you like Verratti or Iniesta, you'll like Kovacic. His first touch is brilliant, perfect vision, elegant dribbling....consistency will come with experience in better team. Inter is just shitty. I mean Palacio level shitty and even Iniesta in his prime wouldn't be able to do anything there. If we can get him, we should get him. He's more prosperous than Modric or Rakitic were in their 20s. Kovacic to Barca!

Veratti, Iniesta and Kova are quite different players - but OK, if you want to compare them I guess Iniesta comes closest. I'm actually for his signature, sign him and Gundogan and we 2 very promising player in the mould of Xavi and Iniesta for about 60M.

Kova and Gundogan for a combined 55 million would be good business imo. Love Pogba but he is overvalued by at least 35 million.

If he leaves I'd be surprised if he went for more than 20-25m. Even though there are clubs who would still gladly pay more if Inter demanded it.

I personally, as I wrote earlier, believe that Inter can sell him for at least 30 million euros in the current inflated transfer market. The maximum that I can see him being sold for is 40 million euros but that would almost require more top clubs to be interested in him. So far from what I have read and seen in the media (it changes all the time though) Barça and Liverpool seem to be the most interested clubs out there.

Honestly while Liverpool is a big traditional club they are not going to play in the CL either. Nor would playing time be guaranteed for him there. Then there is adoption. Italy and England are quite different countries, the language barrier, playing style etc.
Of course he could earn more but I hope that he is smarter than that because in his situation playing time is much more important and if he fulfills his talent he should not worry about earning money. Especially when he is this young.

I think that he will stay at Inter for 1 more season at least. Might not be such a bad thing for him. I don't think that he is quite ready for a club like Barça. Inter can't play much worse than they currently do although as we already discussed in the Inter thread there are some doubts about Thohir and Mancini.

Of course Mancini might want to sell him to make room for transfers due to the FFP. Inter seem to really want a 32 year old Yaya past his best. I don't understand such a move if that means that Kovacic will be sold. But OK truth be told Yaya is the better player currently but his age is advanced and he has no resale value and a high salary.

He'd be stupid to stay in club where he plays less and less with each weak. I doubt he'll develop much further on bench, and he probably knows that too.

He's not a moneygrabbing gloryhunter like Kroos or Gotze though. He's a modest and religious guy and wouldn't force a move.

Have you looked at the number of minutes that he has played this season? True he has been an unused sub a few times under Mancini and started on the bench a few times but he has played much more overall than he has been sitting on the bench or on the stands.

This is not my opinion those are cold hard facts.

Also do you really believe that he would play more for us? Also what's the guarantee that he would play more at a club like Liverpool? If I were him I would stay for another season and develop further at a club I know and where I get plenty of playing time regularly.
If he continues to perform well and becomes more consistent the suiters will be many. He will have no problems with finding a new club.

He has yet a hell lot to prove especially in terms of consistency to warrant a move to a top club and then demand regular playing time at such a club.

What are you on about? There are already many clubs that would be happy to have him.

We are talking about absolute top clubs and genuine interest here.

The point is that I could very well see him stay for another year and I doubt that this would hamper his development as some claim here as he contrary to popular belief is playing a lot this season.

In his age and for the good of his development he needs regular playing time. He won't get that at our club, RM, PSG, Bayern and other absolute top clubs.

If he performs well next season and becomes more consistent plenty of clubs (top clubs) will show interest in him and fight for his signature.

That's it.

No, you didn't say "absolute top clubs in your post". And what's other clubs have to do with Barca-Kovavic topic?
If you want it that way then if he does have a great season he'll probably be out od our reach as other clubs can offer more to Inter and Kova won't be a prick and force a move somewhere else.

Read post 353 where I talk about top clubs.

The point remains the same for my part.

Of course but there is also a good chance of us being interested in other players more and Kovacic just being an option out of many.
