Mats Hummels

Typical Bayern, he leaves on a free and now when he's come back to bite them they want to buy him. Should stay at Dortmund or try another league.

The last time Hummels had to make a similar decision he was always mentioning he wants to play abroad. now he doesn't mention it with a single word. like he's trying to avoid it by any means...

Then there was the interview in the Bild (?) in which he said he now has a different mindset compared to the time he was 22/23. He also adds that his family and wife are now part of the bigger picture and have a say in the matter.

Keep in mind his wife is from Munich and his parents life here as well.

Now there is the strange interview from yesterdays game...saying the decision costs him 1/2 an hour sleep every day. Everybody would understand his decision when he's going to announced it and basically asks people for their forgiveness in advance.

He also repeats, time and time again, that we wants to win trophies and go to a top5 club.

Now his dad, who had a falling out with bayern, even mentions that bayern is part of the discussion....Plus it seems so that his dad and the club have reconciled as Hummels-Senior is now an agent for quite a few bayern youth prospects and basically roams Säbener Straße every other day....

Plus there is this interview from late january 2016. His dad says that Mats to Bayern would be an utopia and isn't going to happen...today he explicitly mentions bayern as a suitable club

I might be totally wrong but if i add all the pieces:

* He wants to win titles and be a CL contender -> Bayern

* He already is in a total "apology"-mode and basically asks people to see his side of the story -> Bayern

* His family is a part in the decision -> Bayern

* He now is matured and sees the world in a different light compared to his younger self -> Bayern

* He tries to make a rational decision -> Bayern

* His Dad and Bayern have reconciled -> Bayern

He says there is clear timeline he's following with a set deadline but can't say anything yet -> Bayern (as he has to face them with Dortmund in the DFB-Pokal Final)

Yesterday Spanish Mundo Deportivo reports Barca is not targeting Hummels -> Bayern

Bayern on the other hand:

* Wants a new CB (Benatia might leave) -> Hummels

* Wants and needs a german player (Götze might leave and Rode could also leave) -> Hummels

* We seem to not act in the Gündogan transfer -> Hummels

* Might have something we can offer BVB in return (Götze) -> Hummels

* There have been reports of a Bayern-BVB meeting -> Hummels (and Götze)

* Could always need another player that fits the homegrown-criteria -> Hummels

We have already shown that we don't hold a grudge for very long. If it's in our best interest we will overcome emotions and act on our ratio (see Vidal for example) -> Hummels

Great post from someone on another forum who pieces together evidence to show that Hummels leaving for Bayern is likely to happen...

This would be so weird, I don't know. Apparently Bayern and BVB are negotiating a Götze Hummels swap or something like that, maybe some money is involved too.

Bayern the fucking excavator at its best.

Weakening its direct rivals in the Buli will serve them no good.

The alternative of Bayern not signing him would be that some foreign team signs him. So the foreign team weakens Bayern's rival and Bayern signs some other player of a similar level.

Is it really that easy for Bayern to sign someone of Hummels' level?

not necessarily weakening as of yet. For 30m Dortmund could go after someone like Mustafi who's at similar level (+ younger).
Maybe they have already held talks with replacements and are confident of signing them. I'm sure BVB wouldn't be so relaxed about it, if they had no plan whatsoever.

That's actually an argument some Bayern fans like to make. However, I'd say if BVB loses out players to foreign teams BVB doesn't take a direct hit as foreign teams only matter when it comes to CL and EL competitions. Losing out players to Bayern is much worse as Bayern is in your face everyday right here in the Buli.

You could be right, but the underlying message is just too damning: Bayern could potentially grab any BVB player, no one is safe.

This could only happen in the Bundesliga right now.

Yeah, plus the obvious point, which is that this is not only about player-quality but about loyalty and the feelings of the fans. You can make logical arguments about Bayern getting a player of similar level anyway or Dortmund being able to buy younger + better with the money, but at the end of the day it is their captain, who have been critical of players going from Dortmund to Bayern, suddenly changing his mind and moving to their biggest rivals.

Maybe you can't blame Bayern for their very disgusting strategic transfer-policy, and maybe not even Dortmund for following the logic arguments above, but surely you can blame the player for making a choice that will rip the hearts out of many Dortmund-fans.

Dortmunds fanbase is world-class, and the loyalty so big no matter how the team performs, but some of their best players seems to have no problem with backstabbing their fans year in and year out.

And ur arguments can be taken serious? From somebody who obviously deeply hates Bayern?

The only thing u r good at is spouting nonsense. U try to sound as if u have a clue about Bayern or Bundesliga, but u r just showing over and over again that u r clueless.

If the only thing you've got is personal attack, I suggest you get lost.

Otherwise, say your fucking point.

On one hand, I feel like Hummels has been average for about 2 seasons now. Also inconsistant as well as injury prone.

But on another, I still find it in very poor taste from Bayern/Hummels.
