Matthijs de Ligt

VN10, appreciated the info. What is the rumored salary and commission demands that have been circulating around for De Ligt?

You're welcome!

I don't know the amounts, I would have to guess.
But I do know that Matthijs is a level headed dude, who dreams of playing for Barca and I also know that Raiola's influence is very limited.
So the demands for salary, fee's and commisions will eventually be rather realistic. Barca won't be overpaying.

Leo_Messi, dont overestimate yourself. Seems like you are very insecure, that's why you have to give yourself complements? Don't worry, you'll grow up.

khaled_a_d, and the rest of you at this forum, let me explain the situation regarding the representatives around De Ligt.

Who represents Matthijs de Ligt:
- Frank de Ligt (his father)
- Barry Hulshoff (ex Dutch national team player and former club coach, now 72 y/o)

What's the story behind it?
- Frank de Ligt contacted Barry Hulshoff to represent Matthijs when other eager agents started approaching Matthijs;
- Frank choose Barry because he had heard that Barry represented another (rather unkown) player;
- Chats with Barry, 69 and retired, made it clear to Frank that Barry was not in it for the money;
- Barry does this out of enjoyment since he has already retired, obviously Barry will be compensated financially anyway.
- Frank + Barry have started a company together, the sole purpose of the company is representing Matthijs (and 1 or 2 other players).

What is Raiola's job?
Very simple, in fact. Frank nor Barry have the knowledge or manpower (lawyers and so on) to succesfully seal an international deal of this amptitude (50+ million).
Raiola and his team/company will help them out. Raiola is not his agent. Raiola is more of a mediator, a consultant and councelor, who will operate according to the whishes of Matthijs' actual agents; Frank & Barry.

Now here ends my factual knowledge.

What I think, speculation obviously, is that Raiola will receive a fixed amount + a % percentage related to the transfer fee and/or wage.
But what's very important: Frank, Barry and Matthijs are in control, are the ones who decide and have the final say.

Whats in it for Raiola?
He doesn't need to do all the regular - most labour intensive - tasks that an agent normally does for a player.
Raiola only needs to make a deal. Nothing else. Way less work for Raiola, which obviously involves a lesser fee than normally.

We shouldn't be too scared for Raiola, this time he works for a player. Normally it's almost the other way around! ;)

Hope all is clear for you guys?

Not at all but it does not hurt to state the obvious and be confident (for good reason) or showcase everyone here and who visits how big a fool you make yourself sound like when you make such posts. I have nothing to worry about.

As for the agent situation, that just confirms what I wrote, namely that Raiola will be the broker due to his connections in Netherlands and international outreach and connections.

Anyway that won't be an obstacle at all (Raiola) since Bartomeu has good ties with him and vice versa. Not only that, de Light clearly dreams of going to us. Similar to de Jong. I have always been stating this here when other users where claiming that this would be of no importance and that they would only think about money. Wrong.

Aren't you ashamed to compliment yourself in every post?

Not ashamed of giving myself or anyone else compliments or receiving them. It happens regularly.

Nor has this anything to do with compliments. Don't play the humble "Nordic" guy around here.:lol:

I was merely spitting out facts. Nothing wrong with that. More forums could use well-informed users to raise the level of discourse.

I guess that you were just giving yourself compliments in post 978 for writing a factual post and one of your first interesting posts. Can't have that around here.

Another post, some more insults but most importantly a few more compliments for yourself.

What's Mac Donald's slogan? That.

:lol:

I just want to add that the useless fast food chain that you have mentioned is more popular in the Netherlands than in Spain and Italy. If it was up to me, I would ban that fast food chain completely and banish it back to the US. I have no idea about their slogans as I never frequent McDonald's.

BTW, if you did not write troll posts regularly I and several other users (as proven and as clearly seen in this thread) would not be calling you a troll and call out your low quality posts. I just praised you for writing post 978 so continue with that my "humble guy".:lol: Better this than the usual level. I gave you a bit of praise there. See? Not that hard.

For the sake of not derailing the thread, just put him in ignore list.

I did, he is just trolling and wasting time in debate he has no leg on.

However, i do agree with him on one point: you are too biaised towards dutch/Ajax players.

"I'm lovin' it!"

Low quality? Because they don't stroke with your opinion? :lol:

Ooof!
Keep it up, you'll get there Leo_Messi.

Newcomer, I'm not biased to be honest. But it's your right to have that opinion. Thanks for the tip btw :)

While I do think we have a little bit of leverage in having De Jong being his best friend and exerting some influence to sway him to join us, I am afraid that this will come down to a bidding war and De Ligt goes to the highest bidder.

Having just spent 86m on De Jong and without selling any players I don't think we will be the highest bidder. PSG, City or Juventus might be.

Hmm, I doubt Barca needs to be the higest bidder.
Let's say Barca offers 60 million and PSG offers 65 million, I'm very sure that Overmars will let De Ligt go to Barca.
Obviously only when De Ligt can come to an agreement with Barca, which won't be a problem for sure.

De Ligt will come to Barca, might take some time to announce, but he will. I'm fairly confident in that.

A difference of 5m is not much, I am more worried about being outbid by at least 10m or plus so naturally Ajax will take the higher offer and more importantly, getting outbid on salary and commission stuff.

We will see.

You're not wrong. We will just have to wait and see, and keep speculating here :D

Says Bartomeu promised De Jong that he'll try to sign his friend De Ligt so they can continue playing together at Barca, as he had wished.

No more, no less.
