I care about Supercup. Now it's one match so it's even better.

There is time for Puig. I'd worry more how much Valverde will play Arthur or Alena.

There were times i seriously thought i saw a young Iniesta out there. Is it only me?

He should several chances to train with the 1st team, primarily play with Barca B and get a lot of chances in the CDR and dead rubber CL games.

Similar to how Pep managed Thiago when he breaking through the B team. His time will come.

Valverde is the party pooper

When asked if he will include Puig in UEFA Super Cup squad as a reward for his good performance:

"Of course, we are happy with the response of all the 'B' players who have come in. Riqui [Puig] has played a great second half, [but] we must be calm with the players. We get very excited, it's about winning the Super Cup, not seeing if Riqui comes or not,"

He's still gonna bring him. Gotta have hope.

Rough around the edges in some aspects but damn this kid has energy and heart. Constantly making things happen all over the pitch, his presence was felt clearly every game he's played. Super talent.

I really hope he develops physically soon, could be a very special prospect for us. Hell I reckon he could be good as a supersub within a few seasons, can totally change games with his play.

Supersub within a few seasons I think is too pessimistic considering he's 19 years old. Remember Xavi had 50 appearances for the first team before turning 20 and Iniesta had 25. I agree that his physique is a bit ridiculous (although he also benefits from it) but he should get plenty of chances for the first team if he's good enough.

We were inferior team back then which allowed us to use young players easier, so while I get your points both Xavi and Iniesta weren't gonna get those amount of games if they were promoted today

Hmm, Iniesta played early as RW, and played as LW a lot in his prime, even had played as DM and Wing Back during Rijkaard days, I don't see either versatility or quickness/dribbling of Iniesta.
His finishing might be comparable tbf :iniesta:

Yeah it is much harder to break into squad now. When treble is expected of the team you need quality across. La masia kids need to patient.

I am not convinced by that. We have 30 year olds Raki and Busi and players like Artur, Alena and others in midfield. Its all about whether the manager trust the youth or not. Previous managers did. Not because our team was so bad.

Not speaking about position.

Just some of his running and first touch mannerisms looked like Iniesta's to me. Of course not all of them or anything but in some moments I swear i saw Iniesta out there. The young part of my post was I referring to his full head of hair. :iniesta:

Let's not compare him to Iniesta, let the boy be himself. He's got a great first touch and great vision for his age to pass the ball like a boss. The fact Franck Kessie reached to grab his head to foul him is enough of a proof this boy has something to make the opponent uncomfortable.

Barcelona kid Riqui Puig is 'spectacular' - AC Milan coach Gennaro Gattuso
http://global.espn.com/football/bar...is-spectacular-ac-milan-coach-gennaro-gattuso

"Riqui is spectacular," Gattuso said at his postmatch news conference. "Even though they [Barca] have players that look like kids, the way they handle the ball amazes me. It's the beauty of football. It's like poetry.

"I heard about him a while ago, and about some of the other kids at the club. It's the kind of thing you can't really copy and paste. It's something that takes years to do. It's how they feel the game.

"So it's a beautiful thing, but a very tough thing for others to copy. They don't play with a tactical model, it's more of a common idea. Needless to say, I am very jealous of the Barca school."

Daniele Massaro, who scored two goals for Milan when they beat Barca in the 1994 European Cup final, asked for his shirt after the game and compared him to Andres Iniesta.

Massaro added: "He plays with real personality, always with his head up. We could be looking at the new Iniesta."
