We had a similar poll back in December 2008 and it said 28-22 in favor of "No".

This time around Messi is looking even better and we see the same question being arised across the news sites and the boards.

no i dont think so because look at the inter match for example . the thing is when messi plays hes the one to score but if he is not then other people step up .

I guess if are to look that back (Madrid and Inter) then we would also have to look an entire season.
With his form being better than ever and at the same time having Henry being only a shadow of himself last season and Ibra failing to adjust to our system, it's more often than not Messi who does it all by himself.
And while we looked more balanced at the start of campaign, this year, and especially last few months, I do see us relying too much on Messi.

More like "totally " rely on him ..
i never seen you that dependent on a player not even with Dinho ..

Dinho's first season we didnt know we could play without him.

But if you think sunday we had neither Andres or Xavi it was more likely we would need his creativity.

It does seem to bring the best out of him though, which is great to watch.

I voted yes.

Most of our players are just not on form when you comapre them with last season (i know i shouldn't do that..).

Xaviesta, Henry and Ibra have not been their best so Messi si obviously going to stick out if he's playing well.

With Xavi out and Ibra not quite in shape, I say yes. With Xaviesta back and Ibra in shape, it's another story, though.

A Barca balance sheet.

For the time being the answer seems to be certainly yes.First of all Henry has been a ghost this season(he has played well only in the last couple of games)Xavi had been great this season as well but in the past month or so has been affected by injuries(simply unlucky and I prey that he will be fit for the game at the Emirates)Iniesta was even better than Messi in the second half of last season, but his skipping of summer practice due to injury has held him severely back this season(I do have a feeling though that Don Andres will pick it up at this the business end of the season)Ibra started really well but has been completely off the boil for the past 3 months(I hope he can pick it up)Alves has been amazing most of the time(unluckily he was sidelined for a month and that cost us dearly-hope it does not happen again)Pedro has been more than a pleasant surprise this year scoring crucial goals out of nowhere...Puyol and Pique are better this year...Abidal was vastly improved but unfortunately got injured.Valdes definitely better than last year.Keita was excellent in the first half of the season but got injured as well...It seems to me that the players are not to blame..the team has been blighted by injuries...Now with Xavi and Abidal coming back,I really feel that there is a very realistic chance that Barcelona will hit top gear when that is needed the most.:flagvl8:

This season, I'd have to say yes.

Yes, we've coped in odd games without him but imagine if he were to pick up a long-term injury, it would be a catastrophe for us.
