Pretty clear we need him. Board and seniors can see it.

I will not go against the fact that Neymar is a much better left winger than all of our left wingers at this moment, one of the best in the world maybe.

But let's see some other aspects:

- He will be 28 years old in February and has accumulated a pretty worrying injury record the last couple of years.

- He would sign a 5 year old contract, which would keep him at the club until the age of 32-33. Do we want to continue having an old squad in the next years or do we want to rebuild? It's not like many teams would be able to afford him if we wanted to part ways.

- Adding to the previous points, how probable is it that Neymar will be able to keep his level after so many long term injuries, his extravagant lifestyle, his Brazilian roots etc, after the age of 28?

- What will happen to Fati's development? No one knows if he has the talent and drive to be a world class player, but won't the arrival of Neymar put a tombstone on his development once and for all?

- Finally, does this team really need another accomplished and entitled player in the squad? The "Club de Amigos" has been proven to hinder our progression, once the members lose some of their drive and abilities due to age. Bringing in Neymar, would mean we have Messi, Suarez, Neymar, Busquets, Pique and Alba as the "untouchables". That is 6 out of 10 outfield players as automatic starters independently of their performance. Then we have Griezmann who is a WC player and can't be a benchwarmer, FJD who is a WC midfielder and can't be a benchwarmer either. We have reached 8/10 outfield players who would feel entitled to start no matter what and that would put pressure on any manager. I'm not sure going the "diva way" is the right thing to do right now.

Are you sure we need him? Would he be a logical choice for you, even after considering all the variables?

To address your points just because he is Brazilian doesn't mean he will decline. Look at Alves, Cafu, Romario, Rivaldo etc.

Neymar will be signed as a bridge between new and old.

He will replace Suarez in the lineup for a Neymar Griezmann Messi front 3.

Fati is so young he can benefit from Neymar mentoring him much like Ronaldinho did to Messi.

Regarding his transfer fee and wages well let's say the clause let's us get him for 170m the money from one of the most marketable players in the world will make that up in shirt sales lol.

He wants to come back and has a point to prove.

We wanted millions on flops trying to replace time to scrap that and start again.

Alternatively we can shift Griezmann to CM in the iniesta role and use his workate that way And sign Lautaro Martinez to replace Suarez.

Point being we are desperate for some pace and creativity for this stagnant team Neymar would provide that in spades

Clubs don't make that much money from shirt sales. Clubs make money from the leverage the shirt sale give them for negociating shirt manufacturer contract and sponsoring contracts.

You have just got your new Nike contract, it shouldn't change things drastically. However, you can prolly get more money from other sponsors.

If Coutinho and Dembele are sold for 200m area, it would be a fine deal to buy Neymar for 170-200. Because he would easily outperform the value of both of them, but they wont. Im sure Coutinho and Dembele are bound to stay because their value has decreased to 2/5 of their transfer fee.when bought. And in that case it would make sense to get the best out of them.

But if they arent both sold, we shouldnt touch this guy. To injury-prone, a bit old, a bit to entilted and would add to much to our existing problem 'club de amigos'.

And we are Anyways lacking in at least one CB and one CM.

About the transfer fee, wages and shirt sales, we won't make 170 on shirt sales, but it's not one of the issues I am worried about. I feel barca have good financial advisors and will be financially healthy, whatever decision they make.

As far as age and brazilian roots and lifestyle are concerned, Neymar seems much closer to Ronaldinho than Cafu and Alves. Don't know about Romario, but Rivaldo was done as a world class footballer long before the age of 32. Also, those players never had such recurring injuries during their prime years, not that I know of at least.

One of the main issues at this point, is his injury record that keeps getting bigger by the year. He doesn't seem to be getting over it and we can't afford to risk throwing 200m more down the drain. In my opinion, there will be better options available next summer.

"President, sign Neymar", three players of Benjamin D, Barcelona's team of youngsters born in 2011, made this appeal to President Josep Maria Bartomeu during yesterday's football ceremony. Bartomeu responded with a smile.[Sport]

He is coming... the children and the seniors all want him
