such a stupid move. I saw him as one of the best and only player to dethrone Messi and Ronaldo. After his Treble season I knew he will be remembered as one of the best and take barca to new hights but then greed poisons him. Lucky for him he will still be in Barcas history as one of the best Trio we have ever seen but it could have been so much more.

I never understood why he thought he couldn't win the Ballon'Dor with Barca. The place to win Ballon'dor SPAIN, Barca or Madrid... It looks like it's never going to happen with PSG.

Neymar was never guaranteed a ballon d'or at Barca. if he had been 2-3 years younger then he'd hit his prime while Messi is ready to retire but had he stayed and Leo continued, Neymar would probably be 30 himself when Messi finally gave him the throne

huge fuck up though. he should of just gone total Figo and joined Madrid if he was serious about ballon d'ors. you need to be playing clasico's

If you want to be the best, you have to play vs the best. When was the last time someone won Ballon'Dor playing in France? 20 years ago?

It's more about the way he left and the reasons he left for. A fully committed Neymar playing the role of Robin to Batman instead of trying to be a hero would be better for Barcelona than Dembele and the money wasted on Coutinho.

This idiot should have stayed and played the role he played in 14/15 and 15/16. The one of a CR-esque winger getting behind defences all day long to score some 1v1 chances or tap-ins.

Better only because he happens to be 5+ years younger than Dembélé. Long-term I highly doubt that given Neymar's personality, entourage, the fact that he is Brazilian (we all know the history of their attackers and how relatively early they seem to decline, in particular in BCN). Buying Dembélé was the right thing to do. It was buying Coutinho that fucked it up. Until now (sporting wise) we have not suffered from that decision though and we did better last season without Neymar than with him the season before. We could very well win a treble less than 2 summers after his move away. Not like we are suffering from his exit.

He should but he would not. Now he can enjoy his sporting irrelevancy.

the last line cannot be highlighted enough. dude scored 7 goals in 5 games v PSG, Bayern, and Juve in the QF, SF, and Final. Basically the feat that CR7 pulled in 2017 minus the ridiculous offsides.

I will never forgive him for giving that up in 15/16 to be a faux Messi and trying to dribble from half line.

In a way we got lucky, but Coutinho's been the biggest bust in the Football history, so kinda bad as well.

Yeah. Sporting wise for sure and collectively as well I suspect. Not to mention all the drama outside of the pitch and the constant tiring rumors about his future. Something that PSG fans have been enjoying since he arrived and probably will enjoy even more this summer when he will try to force his way out.

Barto should have listened to me. Would not have touched Coutinho even for a bargain fee. We can still treat the open wound before it gets infected by selling him to the highest bidder this summer. Here is hoping. Can't see him succeeding for us. Regardless of position. Would require a miracle and a new manager.

I'm sure some PL team will bite. Especially someone like Chelsea, If they have ban coming and Hazard leaving, they could use a proven player like Coutinho.

Yes. He has a great reputation in England and it's where most of the strongest clubs (financially) are located. 1 season of bad form (he had a good first half year) should not turn all possible suitors away. He is still relatively young. Will turn 27 this June. Either that or QSG might be in for him to somehow try to convince his buddy Neymar of staying by propping the squad up with more Brazilians. What better way than to supposedly get his best friend? Here is hoping.

Just a misfit. Can happen. Might very well succeed in another club that uses another system with another manager at the helm.

Exactly. I don't think selling Coutinho would be that hard but we would have to take a loss on him.

Yeah I was even more disappointed by Neymar's decline over his final 18 months here than I was by the way he left.
