Is it a ROFR or ROFO ? I ask because a ROFO is mainly a bona fide thing so that wouldn't be all too promising, as in no guarentee to get the guy at all.

Having a first option would reiterate to a player that we are really interested in him... If not this year we would do it some time later, but do it for sure!! So first option definitely has its advantage.

Also, most of the times first option is included with a transfer fee agreement too
