Pay Atlético the 24M and let him stay at that club for one or two years. Óliver needs playing time, which he won't get at Barca (as long as Tito is manager). This 24M will become 40M in one or two years. Golden boy.

This is as good as a Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets midfield in a few years:
Ayoub - Óliver
Samper

But only if Thiago leaves.

Agree, but that's almost a done deal. Barca should anticipate as quickly as possible (when Thiago leaves).. instead of sleeping and looking how Real Madrid will buy him or overpay him in 2015.

I´d go for Torres instantly. Another option would be to let Rafinha take Thiago´s place, or move up Samper and play with a double-pivot on midfield.
A possibility of 99% this won't happen though.

Why would we pay 24m for him when we are selling a more experienced thiago for 18m and malaga sold isco for 25m.

Unlikely that all three will reach that level. Career trajectory isnt as linear as that.

Oliver has more potential than both, it's a gamble but with that high of a ceiling I wouldn't be too reluctant for 24m

Player would need to want to leave for any of this to matter, fan of Barcelona or not...Kid strikes me as a loyal lad, seems determined as well to blaze his own trail

Yeah I'd prefer he stay at Atletico as well. Not only would it be very un-Barcelona of us to poach another club's talent, he will develop better and be a leader at a rising club like Atleti.

If it is because of high ceiling i rather we buy marquinhos for 40m than TS for 42.u .u don't know that anything can happen to him and his development can stall just look at bojan, giovanni dos santos and 24 is too much for a wannabe that is not even playing regularly for his team.oscar was bought for 20m.and rather we spend that 24m on both kurt zouma and doria (defenders that have high ceiling)since we produce mildfielders and if we want to sign a mildfielder i would rather kondogbia for 10m cos we don't produce cm with strength and power.

A wannabe?? Obviously there's no 100% guarantee that he'll reach his ceiling but there is nothing to suggest that he won't. He has leadership, maturity, good attitude, and confidence whereas most players who flopped lacked in one or more of those qualities. Oliver is an astounding player, so I don't get how you could act as if it's 50/50 on whether or not he'll make it. We don't know exactly what'll happen in the future but there isn't any huge chance that he'll not make it, it's very unlikely.

Whereas I like the player I find very difficult to predict or calculate a player's potential, especially since Oliver is yet to play a lot of games in high level. I wouldn't change him for Thiago, but if Thiago decides to leave, we should probably keep an eye on this guy, because he plays Barcelona type of football.

Bojan too was performing very well and there was also nothing to suggest he won't make it

In my opinion, talented midfielders that rely on their technique and mind, rather than finishing-physical abilities are more likely to succeed. Also, Bojan was played out of position for the most part in Barcelona. But maybe I am biased, because I like midfielders so much!
