I believe those people who don't follow La Masia games and judge youth players only when they are promoted to the first team would probably like Oriol more than Samper. Oriol has been more solid in defensive parts than Samper (although the latter is probably more creative). People would think he is more suitable for a pivot.

Oriol will definitely be given chances in the first team if things goes right. At least he is likely to face less challenges compared to Samper since Sergio would need a proper successor and I don't think this board will be able to find one from outside who might block Oriol's progress.
